can't get ls to fit
okay i am using a spohn k frame and their mounts to a set of clamshells with unknown origin when i got them was told they were f body.the problem is i cant get the mount holes to line up. i left everything loose and went as far as going from 7/16 bolt to a 3/8 just to see what i am up against, doing that i am about a hole out from the engine mount to k frame.i would by new clamshells but i am not sure.just wondering if anyone else has had this problem

Re: can't get ls to fit
any chance you could get a shot of the mounts and clamshells? no need to keep fighting if something's not correct.
on topic, i had the wrestle with both my 5.3 and my 6.0 when it came time to get them seated. i ended installing the kmember side of things loose so i could adjust in any direction possible and still fought for about 30 min to get things bolted up

Yea, pics would help us help you, sometimes these 'bolt in' swaps need a bit of persuading!

Re: can't get ls to fit
will send pics shortly i figured the easiest way was to chop up the right hand mount and move the postion of mount.i have a buddy coming by tomorrow with a welder to weld everything up.it cost me a heater box but this is by fas the easiest way to make it fit with out remming out holes and trying to make it work

Re: can't get ls to fit
I had a similar issue with mine, but only when I had removed the stock Fbody clamshells with rubber bushings to put in Prothane bushings. That was the hardest job I've ever done. I had the bolt one hole's width off from where it needed to be, ended up having to jack the engine up a bit from the oil pan and using two crow bars (used the help of my dad and my uncle), and it still took me like 4 hrs of fighting the darn thing to get it to go in finally. It's definitely a job that you only want to do once.

Re: can't get ls to fit
Blue...I also had to give the motor a little persuasion to get the second bolt through the mount. What a B&*^%!! Couple hours and beers later, it was in. That was probably the hardest part of the entire swap for me.
Did this by myself with 2 crowbars and 2 jacks
