Re: cam choice with z06 springs
The only cam that I know off the top of my head to work with LS6 Springs is the GM Hot Cam, but it may be too small for your 6.0 I'd suggest selling off the parts that you don't need and using it to buy a better cam, springs and pushrods.

Re: cam choice with z06 springs
i think the ls6 springs are only good for .570" lift....so keep the cam mild.

I think the GM HOT cam is good for this. As for power, Car Craft got 480 HP from a build like this.

Re: cam choice with z06 springs
that might be pushing the limits of the springs....stay away from the hot cam, there are much better choices out there, in my opinion.

get on ls1tech and see if you can find a good 220-224ish cam used....most of the time you can buy them around $250 or less.

You going to be running this car at cordova when its completed? Maybe ill see you at midnight mayhem

btw I think the zo6 cam seems alittle small for the power your demanding, especially on a 150 shot

I have a Lunati 218/222 526/.534 lift on a 114. Will work great with stock springs. Make me an offer on it.

Re: cam choice with z06 springs
for the peace of mind i would just throw a stock 02-04 ls6 cam in there with those springs and ride that for a while and until you can afford to do it the correct way and buy springs that work with the camshaft

Yes i will be taking my ta to cordova when its finished i just have a couple more small parts to buy to complete my swap and now i am gonna be selling my 5.3 and still trying to decide to go carb or injected as now i have all the parts to do both then i will see how much cash i have for cam and spring kit. Are custom grinds the same cost as off the shelf cams?
