Getting computer tuned?

I have an LS3 outta a vette. Buyin the GMPP working harness/computer/gas pedal stand alone system (worked awesome In our 65 impala ss with 6.2). But it runs rich in the impala (big cam also). Mine has cam, valve springs, little head work, headers, 3" exhaust, etc.
I wanna get the computer tuned for the mods I have. No where even close to me (Saskatchewan) can dump tune a car, so that's outta the question.
Where can I send this ecu to be tuned?
I have no interest In even trying to tune it myself btw.

Re: Getting computer tuned?

Your best bet is to have it dyno tuned by a local tuner who specializes in LS cars. Mail order tunes can get you close on mild builds, but for anything else a custom dyno tune is far better and safer.

Re: Getting computer tuned?

There is nowhere even close that can dyno tune my car. There's also nowhere even close to me that can dyno a car. Closest dyno is about 10hrs away now I believe.
I'd be happy with a mail order tune that can get it quite close anyhow.
Unless there's somewhere in North Dakota or Montana (closest states to me) than can dyno tune.

What about Texas Speed Performance?

Ive heard good things about Frost mail order tunes. The problem is you would need fine tuning only a dyno can give you for optimum performance more importantly would be driveability.

Re: Getting computer tuned?

You could try Speartech. He has a lot of years of LS tuning behind him. Not the cheapest, but should do as good a job as you can get away from the car.

He will be happy to talk, if you give him a call.

Re: Getting computer tuned?

I'm either gonna try Speartech or Texas Speed & Performance.
Is there anywhere In North Dakota, or Montana that can dyno tune and LS car?
What would I be looking at to dyno tune a car btw?
I'm not so much worried about fuel mileage or drivability, this is nowhere near my daily driven car. It's just an expensive toy that I wanna get some good power outta

Hell you might as well throw a carb on it then.

Re: Getting computer tuned?

I woulda did the carb but I got everything for the fuel injection already including the harness. I like the easy starting and cleaner running of fuel injection as well

Re: Getting computer tuned?

I used Frost for my baseline tune. Very quick turn around and fired on first try. Very thorough about all of the parts installed (down to correcting me about a mismatched map!) Will get it on a dyno as soon as I can get the rest of the car situated.
