Hood clearance need for lq9 with stock intake?
I'm just wondering this because when I bought my 83 trans am the PO installed a 3in fiberglass cowl hood and I rather not spend money on another manifold if its not needed. Thanks!

In most cases, no. Try it and see, firebirds have a lower hoodline than camaros so comparing the two via 
is not perfect
Most standard cowls will NOT clear the truck alt either, so keep that in mind too
