engine swap 89 camaro rs???
I have a 89 camaro rs 305 TBI and I was planning on swapping it for a LS1 will it slide rite it, what do I need? How do I make it work? Also I had to put a new rear end I bought it from someone who put 373 rear end gears and the Speedo is way off like 30 mph off the new rear end is from a 84 z28 manual and I'm pretty sure the stock gears are 323 I know stock gears for the 89 rs is 273 how and what would I need to do to get my Speedo to match the right speed?

Welcome to Thirdgen! And everything you need to know is in this forum just read everything you see and learn, learn it all! On a serious note the ls1 has so many how to step by step guides on here you should have no problem with that. For your speedo all you need to do is find your gear ratio and buy an adapter and screw it on to your speedo gear.
I know i sound vague but i don't feel like looking it all up for you, i'm a little burnt out atm. cheers.

This should get you started on what you will need to look out for when swapping an ls1 into your thirdgen:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...third-gen.html
There is a TON of knowledge on this forum and pretty much any issue you can think of has been documented and dealt with. I am in the process of doing this swap right now and I never would have been able to attempt it had it not been for all of the great information on this site.
One piece of advice I can try to pass on from my own experience is to try and buy a complete LS1 donor vehicle with the transmission you are looking for (provided you have a space to keep it while you work on the swap). I made the mistake of trying to piece all of the different parts together individually and it has been quite the lesson in over spending. Plus when you buy the complete wrecked donor, you have a better idea as to the condition and history of the engine.
Last piece of advice...it might prove helpful for you to go through some of the other build threads on this forum because it is really helpful to see everything laid out in nice pictures (at least for me it was). Here is a list of some of the swaps already completed on this website (this is only a small fraction of them, so if you are looking for something specific then do a search for this sub forum and you should get a bunch of results).

Good luck
