LS swap with truck intake and firebird factory air induction hood

I have an 84 firebird/trans am and it has the factory air induction hood on it.
I know the truck intakes have to be swapped to the car ls intakes on normal hoods, has anyone tryed with the bulged hood? Or is the bulge to far on the drivers side.

I have the truck intake under a Camaro hood, but I extremely doubt you can do it with any 'bird hood that came from GM from '82-'92. If you do manage it, I'm sure you'll have to raise the rear of the transmission, and that may cause some driveshaft vibration. You'll want the lowest possible mounting for the engine, with the costly '98-'02 Z28 oilpan. I went with the Trans-Dapt mounts, and I believe the costly Spohn mounts would set the engine lower, but them my modified truck oilpan wouldn't clear the crossmember without more mods. My clearance is 5/16" down there, and nothing up top. The bulge in your hood is too far off center.

Yeah I thought I might be able to squeeze it in there or atleast up against it. It creeps over onto the center abit but I guess not enough

Not a chance

My techco is 2" taller than a ls1 intake and wouldn't clear a power bulge hood. A truck intake is 4" taller than a ls1 intake
