whats the easiest way to get fuel to a ls1 with 4th gen tank?
whats the easiest way to get fuel to a ls1 with 4th gen tank?
need to start working on my swap again and just got my harness from Pocket and now looking to tackle the fuel side of things. I have a fourth gen plastic tank that I will be swapping in. The fuel lines in my car look pretty bad and plan on replacing them anyways. Should I just try to get a complete fourth gen setup and bend it where needed to make it fit? I've looked at the other options of using the quick connects on the fuel lines by the tank also, but since I want to replace all the lines don't know which way I should go with this. Hoping some of you experienced ls swap guys have a easy solution. Thanks

Buy braided line and quick disconnect snap on type fittings for stock tank outlets. Route however you please.
Teflon line lasts longer and you will not have fuel smell after a few years use like you can with typical braided steel rubber line

If you cant find good stock thirdgen hardlines, might as well run braided and external regulator

Don't need a regulator. I used braided from the tank to a T. One line from the T went to the regulator in the pump unit, other line from the T went to the filter and then to the front. I used all russel quick disconnects (3/8 I believe). Way easier than messing with hard line.
If you go the braided route, it's very easy to cut and insert in to the AN fittings. I wrap my cut location really tightly about 4 times with masking tape, put the line in a vice tight enough to squeeze it a bit, putting my cut line right along the vertical edge of the vice. Use a fine tooth hack saw blade, using the edge of the vice as a cutting guide. You'll get very few frays this way, then you can insert it in to the fitting using a tiny flat head screwdriver to fit the few frays in to the fitting (don't remove the tape). A little bit of WD40 on the insert of the fitting as you place it in to the hose, and you're good. I would put a piece of tape at the base of the external fitting to make sure I had no more than 1/8" of a gap if the braided line slides out a bit.

Always put the filter in front of the return line so you return clean fuel to the bucket.

Was in a rush because I was leaving for a course for a few months and needed the car to be able to move around before I left.

If its set up the way he means, it will go pump-filter-T fitting. One from the t fitting goes to fuel rail, and the other line goes to the regulator in the sending unit.

If your V8 tank came with the V8 pump in it then it has a regulator in the pump module itself. The V6 pump module does NOT have a regulator in it.
I used new quick connects and rubber EFI line from the pump to the OE supply line. Then to factory filter and then installed the 4th gen Tee.
