What wires do I cut out and where? LT1 Swap
Hi guys. I've read a lot of the posts on here but I'm still confused. I have a 96 LT1 out of a Corvette and its harness. I have the TBI motor out and the original harness laid up on the windshield.
I'm sending off the LT1 harness to get modified (delete emissions, flash computer, etc). My question is what wires exactly do I need to cut out of the factory harness and where? I know my new harness will be labeled (Tach, etc). I just don't know what I can cut out and what needs to stay to make connections for gauges, lights, power to the interior etc.
If someone can help me out I'd really appreciate it!!! I can build a motor all day long but I HATE wiring and feel like I'm out of my element! Let me know if any kinds of pics would help!!!
Thanks TGO Fam!!!

I bought a C100 that was prepped by Pocket for an LS swap in an 1989 Camaro. I have a 1984 Trans Am, and Pocket stopped selling his harnesses a while ago. I bought the '89 C100 from another member, and I used it to help me understand what needed to be done. I discussed it here:

Here are a few more posts about my progress.

I looked at a wiring schematic for the C100 and C207 plugs. I identified the wires that didn't involve the engine but were still needed (like headlights). Then I thought about the basic connections that I needed for the new engine and transmission (power, oil pressure, tachometer, reverse lights). There were 3 power wires, and I had to identify which one was for the starter, which one was for the ECM, and which one provided power only when the ignition is switched on. On the C207, I identified the connection that led to the fuel pump. Another member informed me that the pink wire had unfused 12v power from the battery. That was good info.

To the OP, the link posted above will cover the basics. Check out the additional info thread for each year diagrams for the C100/207
