Gen V LT1 Coolant Hoses

Can anyone suggest which coolant hoses will fit this? It's the Holley Frostbite radiator with 1.5" inlet and 1.75" outlet.

You could tap the water pump with AN fittings and screw it right into the radiator. That's one of the benefits of the frostbite radiator.

Btw, how did that radiator fit?

How do the stub sizes compare to LS1 water pump and 3rd gen radiator?

I know with the frostbite radiator you can buy different inlet and outlet sizes. From 1-1/4 to 1-1/2. The inlets are AN 16.

The radiator does not fit too good. I need to modify the lower and upper rubber radiator mounts. The upper fan bracket does not fit too good on the right (passenger) side. I may try to use the stock dual fans since the dual fans and shroud I bought with the radiator is real close to the water pump. Maybe I need to mess with the motor mounts to move the engine back about 1/2". The lower radiator outlet is fairly tight against the frame but I should be able to get a hose on.

I've only read one review on this radiator and it echos your sentiments.

Re: Gen V LT1 Coolant Hoses

I use a direct fit (3rd gen style) Modine 3-core radiator with stock dual fans. Not sure it is sold any more. It is the kind of radiator somebody would install for a big block back in the day. Keeps my 427 LS temps super stable. The speed shop even marveled how engine temps stayed so consistent run after run after run on the dyno. Never broke 210F degrees. The point is, these newer engines are more efficient and don't have the heat loss that the old SBC had. They just don't need a massive radiator, so favoring fit might be first priority.

Although the quality looks first class, it probably fits or sort of fits many cars. I bought it at the end of the year when Holley was having a 20% off sale. It's not that if won't work, its just not plug and play.
