Ok what is the trick here... I'm running factory 2000 exhaust manifolds and am trying to install the Hawks hose kit for the LS swap. There is no way the AC pump will go into the bracket because of interface with the low pressure line and the exhaust.

 

Never mind there is a foot note that they will not work with factory manafolds ... I don't think that was there when I ordered the lines... Well crap guess I'll have to get someone to modify the 2k line bracket... Luckily I kept that.

I remember seeing that note when I ordered mine last year. If you plan to sell them, let me know. I am doing another swap.

Also, let me know if you figure out a good way on how to run them with the stock manifolds... That is whole reason I swapped to longtubes!

 

Since I have a tubular k memeber I can run the factory lines I'll get a local shop to modify them... Or order a crimper and do it myself.

I was planning on finishing the car next week... There goes that plan.

I'll let you know on the lines the fitting nut is a little scuffed from me trying to figure out how to make it work but otherwise good shape. I went ahead and put them on with pump sitting on car so I could pull a vacuum and make sure all the other new parts are good. So far holding strong.

I also saw one that swivel but can't decide if it works for the LS pump, what is the generic model of the ls1 pump?

KWIK performance also sells various compressor blocks.

 

Thanks will look into those also. Found a custom hydrallic shop they said they can crimp, flare, weld, and do pretty much anything to make custom lines so... I think I'll go that route.

However was looking the 5.3L engines use a different pump. the fittings are on the side of it. This looks like it would be an easier fit. question is if I could find a bracket that would line it up with the fbody pulley.

 

I have truck brackets and compressors and a 4th gen (I think) compressor. I could look at the pumps and tell you whether the mounting points are the same between the two

 

Dont know if this helps any, but i modified the stock piece.I wouldnt mind trying the hawks part or similar w/ custom made lines to boot.

 

Got the lines made, pulling a vacuum at the moment on the system. Hawks lines will be for sale.

I'm in the same pickle. Got an LS1 compressor and LS1 Ac bracket. I'm on a 5.3 but running 4th gen F body "accessories". I'm using 3rd gen dryer and condenser. Ready to mount compressor but need to get this hose situation handled. Car is a 1987 Trans Am.

Cant buy the Hawks one because I'm too running 4th gen exhaust manifolds.

Can someone help me piece together what I would need? Would love to just get a 4th gen hose (that would fit, right?) but I'm running a 3rd gen dryer and condenser. Saw that link to the cold hoses website, but not sure what I'm looking at.

Look and see if you have a hydraulic shop close they can take the 4th gen hoses and modify them as needed.
