LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
I’ve looked at the info on the Lt1 site. It’s a great guide. I used the guide to put an ls1 in my son’s 90 Camaro, but I bought a 2015 engine for my 86. The information is there for 2010, 11, but not for 12up.
I have a crushed connector on the front of my engine, I think it is for the electric steering on the 2015 Camaro, but I would like to verify. Also need to know if the pin outs on the ecm are the same as the 2011.
Try ls1tech.com That's where the LS people hang out.
Here, we know, 82-92. A few of us dabble elsewhere occasionally, but that's the range we cover. We can help you out with the 86 part, but the others, are outside our scope.
Good luck with the 86. That car with that motor should end up fun to drive.

Ok, I guess I’ll have to study on this. I appreciate the help.
I saw a connector on the top of the engine too with 5 wires, all of them are blue ,some dark some light . I’m guessing these are communications too.
I appreciate the pin outs that you provided, but they don’t match what I have. I’m wondering if my engine is a 2015 or maybe a 2012. The computer is an e 38 with 2 connectors. The info on the lt1swap site shows 3 connectors on the 2014-2016 pin outs . I thought maybe the trucks had different computers. My engine was advertised as a 2015, it doesn’t have a power steering pump. I’m not sure what year electric steering started. The harness info on the lt1swap site doesn’t match the 2011 because of the steering connector. Other than that I haven’t noticed any difference, but I haven’t even taken the harness off of the engine yet.
I got a chance to dig into the harness last night. I learned that the 5 blue wires near the ecm went straight to the broken steering connector at the bottom of the engine. Then there are 2 sets of tan- tan/black wires that go to the ecm(1set) & tcm (2nd set). I am guessing that I need to splice the tan & the tan/black from the ecm straight to the tcm. I haven’t been able to find any information on this anywhere, but I know I’m not the first one to run into this.
Can anyone verify this, or send me to some info on it?
This shows the blue wires coming from a connector near the ecm. Maybe went to the bcm The 2sets of tan-tan/black going back towards the ecm. This is near the ecm. You can see one set of wires going to the ecm , and the other set going to the tcm.
I found more information, but it’s 2011 info (I think)
This shows the tan-tan/black wires coming from the ecm to terminals 13&14 on the transmission. Another set of tan-tan/black on terminals 10&11 go to the headlight & the brake module.

Those are GM's "CAN-BUS" System Wires....
There is a High Speed Network for the EBTCM, SDM, VCIM, BCM, TACM, and PCM/ TCM.
The Low Speed Network is for the other 30 something Modules.
