Before and almost finished pics

I'm getting excited to finally get to drive my car ( been off the road for 2 yrs)
Just need to switch the front rims because they stick out too much ( MHT sent me the wrong backspacing) and some interior work needs to be finished.
I rolled it out of the garage yesterday and took some pictures so I thought I'd share.
It's still dirty and my wife's car is in the way but you'll get the idea
I'll take some better pics when I can drive it somewhere
I'd also like to thanks TGO and all the people who post on here either to answer my questions or someone else's that I've probably searched through and read.
This site ROCKS!

Wow that looks great. You really did a very nice job on her. I love the spoiler everything seems to flow very well. I have a question though, were did you get those seats at. They look awesome and I wouldn't mind getting some.
Thanks man and good luck with her.

Re: Before and almost finished pics

Thanks guys,
Yes, the whole car came completely apart, and pretty much everything is new or changed. I've owned the car for 10 years and have been adding to it off and on since then. The B4 picture is probably 2 years old.
The rear spoiler is a hawks 5" which was modified with rounded corners as I think it follows the lines of the car better. I don't know if you can tell but the hatch isn't closed because the battery is disconnected.
The seats are from Hunsaker, I was actually going to wait until I got to drive with them and then post about them. So far they are awesome and only cost me $450 shipped for both but the price may have gone up a bit
Here is a better picture of them. The only problem is that they are sitting a tad high. I just modified and reused the stock brackets but I think I may have to make different ones to lower them an inch or so.

Re: Before and almost finished pics

The wheels are 18x8 w/4 3/4 bs front and 18x10" w/ 6.25 bs rear Foose Nitrous. I didn't take any shots under the hood yet cause I'm not done that either. I still need new valve covers, new wires and to install my aftermarket radiator fluid bottle. Does anyone have suggestions for a washer fluid bottle?
I picked up a wiper motor from an 86 which has a built in pump so that I can use any bottle I want but I still haven't found one.

LOL I knew someone would say that I need to upgrade the brakes but here's the thing... I did! Only it was before I joined this site and was in "the know". I have 4 piston caliper Wilwoods w/ cross drilled and slotted rotors but they are only 11'', when I ordered them I thought I was getting 12" rotors but didn't and ended up putting them on anyway, plus I only had 15" rims at the time. So the problem is that if I upgrade them it's only for looks because these things stop very well. I think I'll wait till I save up some money again and do the fronts and rears up with C6s though I don't know if I'll gain much braking power.
Thanks again for your kind words.
Justin

Re: Before and almost finished pics

I agree about the rear not being low enough. I'm waiting to see if it will settle at all and then I think I'll try removing the spring isolators and replacing them with rubber hose

Don't bother then, save your money. Unless your burning up the road courses some where, very few cars need 12 -14" rotors.

Re: Before and almost finished pics

The paint is SEM Shovelhead Red. It's a new base clear that looks exactly like a candy. It really does too, only difference is that is doesn't cost as much and is easier to maintain and fix.
I will get more pics posted as soon as I can.

Re: Before and almost finished pics

I like that spoiler. I looked at Hawks site and it says it for 82-86, 91-92. I have an 88 as well so I was wondering why its listed for those years and was it easy to put it on your car?

Congrats on a job well done man! Beautiful car with all tasteful mods - very nice! It is also nice seeing a totally re-done car that is not going the 91-92 route

Keep it up!

Re: Before and almost finished pics

The reason it's for an 82-86 and 91-92 is mostly because of the brake light
pre 86 has no 3rd brake light and 91-92 has it on the rear window.
You need to drill 2 holes in your deck lid and elongate a few of the other existing mounting holes to make the hawks 5" work on an 87-90. You will no longer have a third brake light but who cares!
thanks again for the compliments guys

Re: Before and almost finished pics

The hunsaker brackets don't really work. I used the original brackets and modified them to fit. I justin had to drill holes in them to match the bolt holes in the seats. The seat height is slightly higher though but I'm 6'-1" and my head doesn't hit the headliner so....

coo, that was going to be my next question im 6'2" and i hear when you put like 4th gen seats in a 3rd gen that the seats sit lower if you know what i mean, like i want to fin a way where i could have them directly sit like on the floor basically, right? would that be possible and your trying to tell me that you use the stock brackets that came on the stock seats but drilled holes to adapt to the new seats? cause the seats im getting a pair for 200 there like brand new thats why and with the quick realease harness like the real good ones and do you have any pics of how you modified them by any chance? and do the seats hit the glove box departmetnt by any chance? soryy for all the questions, thanks in advance.

thanks. Tony.

I drilled the stock brackets to match the mounting holes in the new seats. I wish I had pics but I didn't take any. Honestly I think I'm going to try and come up with something different because it's not quite right. It works great and it looks great but the seats just sit like an inch too high. As for the glove box...I'm not sure what you mean. They don't interfere with the center console and they have the same travel as the stock seats because of the stock brackets.

ohh ok sounds good but when you start making your new brackets take a lot of pics so i could borrow your idea or so.

Thanks, Tony.
