I did the celebrity conversion on my 88 Iroc and am very happy with it. Pretty easy to do and have gotten alot of good comments at shows and stuff.

Re: Headlight Conversions/Upgrades

Go with a C/K pickup truck housing. Some models on ebay have the projector look. Different color housings too. A member called "Flynlow***" had them on his car. Looked pretty good even tho the car was teal!

Here, I searched 2 mins for you and found this. Its just an example of what Im talking about.

Re: Headlight Conversions/Upgrades

what I did , I bought 4 hella H4 housings
then I rewired all the lights so that the 2 outer lights are my lowbeams.
then I have 4 highbeams.
and for on the highway I used my foglight switch to switch on the inner lights as 2 extra lowbeams ( don't have any foglights anyway ).

his way I can drive at night with all 4 headlights on without blinding oncoming traffic with my highbeams.

even sweeter, you can convert the H4 bulps later on to Bi-xenon lights. this way you have 4 xenon lights.
people will think its noon when you drive by at night.

if you buy the hela housings with park light in it, you can put in every socket a white LED light. an put them straight on the battery.

if you turn your car off your 4 headlighs will have this white glow in them and you can keep them running for atleast a week withouth having a low battery.

Re: Headlight Conversions/Upgrades

I have a set of projector lights i bought off of ebay. there fake. They suck and give no lighting. I'm switching back to the crystal lenses. I have HID kit on order so That should take care of the problem.

Re: Headlight Conversions/Upgrades

ok, let me put some pictures with it.

1) I bought some hella h4 housings.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

2) I bought 4 H4 lights
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

an h4 light is a highbeam + lowbeam in 1 lamp.

3) I bought 4 relays
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

4) I bought some 2,5 mm wires in diffirent colors.

5) I bought some H4 connectors

6) I wired it so that instead of my foglights ( wich I dont have ) an extra set of lowbeams comes on. ( the 2 inner lights on the car )

bigger pictue can be found here
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...s-belgium.html
or here
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...ric-lights.jpg

7) I looked at the result. ( 2 lowbeams for normal nightdriving )

4) lowbeams for those really dark nights on the highway.

both headlights or lowbeam + highbeam ( sometimes even a parklight in them ) so I also have 4 highbeams.

Re: Headlight Conversions/Upgrades

What i did was not only convert to h4s but I also converted to both sets of headlights to dual high low beam headlights. That way all 4 headlights are operating all the time high beams and lows. It works great i think especially because now you can aim each set of headlights to offer a wider pattern or have one set lite further down the road while the other pair of headlights illuminates immediately in front of you. Plus i never really like the look of the low beams having only 2 of the 4 lights on. Also for those of you who want a more traditional look like I did year one offers nice H4 conversion housings that look like regular old sealed beam headlights for the factory appearance. Also did i mention this was also a pretty cheap way comparatively to improve the lighting? If i recall the whole swap (relays, conversion housings through year one, wiring, ect) cost ~$70 plus the cost of the H4 bulbs themselves depending on which ones you want.

just like I said.
only diffirence is that my inner lowbeams/outer highbeams
are connected to a second switch on my dash to put them on or off whenever I want. this way I dont stress my alternator that much.
rear window defogger + 4 lights + radio + heater + subs can be a little it over the top for the stock alternator

Re: Headlight Conversions/Upgrades

You can go the expensive route if you want but this way you get Bi-Xenon true projector lights like in my sig.
