Re: Black Outs

Drill a small hole on the side through the blackout and the tail lens. Insert flathead screw. Do the same on the license plate light side. Insert screw. They won't move.

Re: Black Outs

Instead of blackouts, I painted mine with clear coat with some black paint in it and red metal flake. Worked perfectly or you can buy nite shades.

Re: Black Outs

YOu can also use the velcro pads that you get for the EZ pass on the East Coast or the I pass in Illinois. Just go up to the toll booths and ask for some more and they should give you a few.

Re: Black Outs

Always clean the surface good before you apply anything like this. I have them on my Iroc. I suggest using some higher quality velcro strips.

Re: Black Outs

Lack of a CLEA surface, is the biggest reason for velcro tabs failing.

I think VHT Night Shades looks even getter. Retains the grids of the stock tail lights (of later lights), and you can even argue with the cop, that they are stock. "See Officer? No black out cover." And it is up tot you how dark you want them. More coats = darker lights.

Re: Black Outs

Yeah, you sure can argue it. However, if you're forced to remove them whats easier - a cover or tail lights?

I prefer the look of the covers myself, but to each his own. If I were to use Niteshades, I would definitely buy a set fo tail lights to try it out on.

Night Shade can be removed. A little thinner, then some plastic polish afterwards, and your good to go.

A cop pulled over my wife for her GTA covers on her Camaro. Very next day, he pulled me over in my Tahoe for the VHT. Granted, mine were DARK, on a black Tahoe. Promised to strip them, did so, and problem solved.

Re: Black Outs

Never mind, yea the night shade looks pretty kool I agree with Stephen you can keep the stock part look but have the darkness and it won't look out of place.
