Decided to go for the blacked out theme...started with some light tinting.

So i decided the first step (not to mention the cheapest) was to use alittle night shade by VHT. My tailights were in good shape, however they had some DA sander scratches in them from the guy who owned it before me. So i started by pulling both tail lights and sanding them with 1500 grit to get good adhesion and to get rid of some of the scratches...worked great. I blasted em and let them sit overnight. They came out good however they were quite dark..at night it wasnt bad but during the day the brake lights didnt show too well. So i then decided to polish them so they still had a tint but were shiny. Here's what i ended up with..

What i started with..

After nightshading..

nope no clear, just wet sanded with 2000 grit. I wish it had come out alittle more...ugh...even? I guess you'd call it. But I am happy with the results regardless..

Your tails look awesome!

What did you use to polish them? I did the same thing abou 5-6 monthes ago. I ended up with this after using some car polish...Yours look alot better....

The Reflection makes them look alot more glossy, but they still are kinda dull.

Take 2000 grit and wet sand them until everything is dull (no tiny shiny dots) then i used, on a wheel, 3M foam polishing glaze for dark colors, tall black bottle...youll find it at a professional paint shop or NAPA.

yea, the main thing is the sanding. i wet sanded it down with 600 grit sand paper. then sprayed on 6 light coats of vht nite shade and made sure there were no runs. waited 15 minutes in between coats. then wet sanded with 1000,1500, 2000. then i took turtle's polishing compund to remove light scratches. spray on 2 clear coats to make it look shiney and to protect it. i think thats about all i did. it seems like every who uses this stuff has a different method of doing it.
