That's what happens when you drive a 20+ year old thirdgen like a modern day super car. Most of them aren't.

Re: Another one bites the dust :/
My family lives in Winchester. Looks like those kids were damn bored out of their minds. Every time I go up there to visit, I'm bored as well. Winchester is so far away from the big cities. Sucks for the car.. the kids.. hope they learned their lesson.

Just because you're bored doesn't mean you should get out and drive like a jacka$$.
Hope they learned their lesson.
And when I saw this thread JTN I just figured you'd wrecked your car again, lol

has nothing to do with it being or not being a supercar. You can wreck a Corvette just as easily as a Festiva if you're a jackass. You can't fix stupid with a well designed car...

Think a ticket/fine would've been justice. Going 100 in a 55...does not mean people deserve to wreck / get hurt...
In chicago here, expressways are 55mph yet 75+mph is the average speed, do millions of people deserve to wreck?
Glad the kids are ok, but hopefully they learned to use better judgement when speeding like that... there are a lot of things to consider when speeding like that....traffic, cops, condition of vehicle, tires, traction etc...
It's never right to put someone else in danger, but people need to chill on the OMG U SPEED U NEED TO DIE ****...it gets old quick. Just reminds me of the truck drivers that get killed out here all the time because they think they police the road. People go about 90mph, truck drivers swerve to scare people, people like that need to be shot in the face. Intentionally trying to wreck people is the most ignorant thing that could happen on the road.
Had a couple people try to do it to me on my motorcycle, couple punk kids when I was doing 80mph trying to race me in a pos vw golf. 1000cc CBR > golf. I didn't race them, but they thought it was funny to come into my lane to **** with me, people like that are the ones that deserve to be wrecked/shot/hurt. Type of **** that is ruining the morals and values of our society.

When you are speeding like these kids where which wasnt a small 5-15mph over the speed limit, then yes you do. You are driving like a jackass and have accepted the consequences that might come.
Also once again never seen or witness about truck drivers acting/driving that way just for the sake to mess with people, most of the time its them reacting to others driving like jackasses.
In the end, these kids deserved what they got and hopefully learn their lesson.
Re: Another one bites the dust :/
I dont know what part of Chicago you are at, but In my lifetime, I have never seen or noticed people going over 65~mph. You do realize if its a 55mph zone, well its a 55mph zone. Try telling that to the cop saying ''But people are driving faster than me'' and see what he tells you.

Truckers also like to police the road especially when people are ignorant and pass everyone on the shoulder. Even had one making a left hand turn no pay attention and if I hadnt reverse floored my 05 silverado, my whole front end of my truck would've been screwed up. In defense, people on the road do some really assinine, ignorant ****, but the truckers are no better. Remember the news did this huge story about how many they caught doing cocaine. Wtf. MY uncle is a truck driver and goes no where near some of bs these guys do/pull off. Truckers are not police, but since they have such big vehicles believe they can do whatever they please. Which is a reason why a month ago one was killed right off the interstate ramp by my house. Murder rate in chicago is so high this year they have been debating whether or not to bring the national guard into things but the police complain about it making them look bad like they cannot do their job...which they obviously cannot. My beloved great grandfather even can't stand the way police these days act towards normal citizens, it is no wonder why we have so many instability issues with corrupt politicians, garnished wages, families losing their homes, and people consistantly disrespectful to one another. Who said these kids were trying to hurt someone? Could've been an abandoned road, or there could have been ALOT missing from the story, media does that, so you have to take everything with a grain of salt. My cousin graduated to become an EMT, same night he went out drinking, someone decided to try to drive him home, and crashed into a house, killed my cousin instantly, and no one seen who fleed the scene. The newspapers said it was cousin who was driving the car even though he was bent in half, strapped into the passenger seat... How about a flip flop..? Next, a drunk driving campaign decided they were going to buy the wrecked car and put it on a corner and posted something so ignorant it offended our whole family. Stating something along the lines of, drunk driving is it worth it? or something related to my cousin. People are ignorant, and lie so much these days, who is to say these kids were intentionally being jackasses? Who is to say why they were going to fast? Sure better judgement could've come into play, but **** happens, doesn't mean OH WELL they go what they deserved. No one really deserves to wreck on their own unless they REALLY do some ignorant **** to other people. As far as I seen, no reports of them offending other drivers was apart of the story, or almost hurting another.
As a person who has for even as part of a job driven the streets everyday as a service person, and has moved a lot, it seems I know a lot more about all this than you.

Re: Another one bites the dust :/
You must be living under a rock. I-355, I-290, I-294, even leading up more north and into wisconsin turns to 65mph, then 75mph. The average on all thes e interstates is 75mph~. That is a fact. Hopefully one of these kids runs into you for having such a terrible attitude about it. Also, I have been out around more truckers at night more than anything with people who like to street race each other. Truckers do intentionally try to **** with you if you are going to fast, another fact.

Average and what the limit actually is far from fact. Hopefully they run into me? Really?
Truckers do intentionally try to **** with you if you are going to fast

So once again, in the end, you speed, you accept any consequences of what might happen next. These kids maybe learned their lesson.

Thank you for proving my point about them only messing with you if your driving like a jackass. Also seeing random experiences does not make you educated on the subject.

Re: Another one bites the dust :/
This conversation is and still is about the topic about these kids speeding. As I said if you are speeding like these kids were, any smart person would walk away from this and realized what he accepted that can happen to them and what will happen to them if they do it again. This story/article is not about kids going 5-15mph over the speed limit.
Bringing in random opinions about ''people need to chill on the OMG U SPEED U NEED TO DIE ****...it gets old quick'' does not bring anything into this and disprove that speeding is dangerous but cmon do you really stand behind what you said and I quote:
Think a ticket/fine would've been justice. Going 100 in a 55...does not mean people deserve to wreck / get hurt...

Looks like he had the later year 16" wheels, his speedo probably told him he was only going 90, lol.
But seriously, I hope those two kids walk away from the wreck with a good lesson learned.

i think both parties involved should lose there license to drive for a good while and i would make them do some community service say clean that 2 mile stretch of highway for a year or two once or twice a month at least that will pound it in to there head that what they did was stupid and they shouldnt do it... now im not saying ive never done anything like it when i was 17 i shredded a tire at 110 plus and thats one roller coaster ride and body shop tab i dont wanna take again anytime soon so i try not to be stupid anymore.... but saying they deserve to die is just plain ignorance why would you wish death on someone youve never met for driving fast??? its ok i a heavy believer in karma maybe somday youll decide to turn and forget your blinker and a semi will smash into you who knows in not saying i hope it happens but it could..... only ppl in this world i believe deserve death are pedofiles rapists and some murderers i say some cause i know if i walked in on my wife with my best friend id prolly kill him/her too...

Carlos, just because you drive in traffic probably on your way/home everyday does not mean everyone all day is stuck in traffic. Your argument is invalid. Every major populated area has traffic, even out in california. You thought speeding is bad out here? Nice little speed limit post, just because the limits are posted does not mean they are followed. If you knew anything about traffic technically speed limits should accommodate the 75th percentile of average speed to prevent accidents.
MANY studies have this similar conclusion:
Because there were few changes in the speed distribution, it is not surprising that the overall effects of speed limit changes on accidents were minor. It is interesting to note that compliance decreased when speed limits were lowered and accidents tended to increase. Conversely, when compliance improved after speed limits are raised, accidents tended to decrease.
We all know what is reasonable, we all know we have our own opinions on this stuff, and we all know sometimes some of us just want to have fun for a moment and take the opportunity. In no way should we ever put the life of another in danger, but we all pay taxes for these roads so some feel entitled to enjoy it when no one is around...
No one deserves to get extremely hurt or die over something so trivial.
