Project NightMaro
Well after talking to one of my remote control short course racing friends he menshoned he had a 92 RS T-Top Camaro he HAD to get rid of, I offered a deal and well ended up getting the car. Traded my rcs and $500 for this project car (not the cheap rcs eather)
Before I even had a chance to pick up the car it had the hood stolen, t-top bag stolen, and the headliner and headliner parts, along with the orginal keys!
Now the car is sittin in my barn 65 miles from where it was, it was dark when i got home and the next morning i went out to give the car a good looking over and see what i had got.
So far ive gotten, a bad title (hes fixing it had to file for lost title ext ext) 230,500 miles (YIKES!)
Color code Purple Haze... (and im half way assumeing on that as all the codes on the door are so faded that you can only make out a few little letters here n there.
Unknown if it is a heritage or not, it has had the back hatch replaced at one point (its not purple on the underside) it has the 25 AV badge that says RS instead of Camaro.. Still real lost on what this car truely is but I do know its a RS.
Also had power windows... key word HAD...
The car has been switched over to a carb, no clue why, but they did a DESENT... I stress that... DESENT job... well they got the correct stuff to do the change over but installing it they didnt do such a good job.
What I saw slightly frightened me..... Ok I lied.. it scared the crap out of me.
I'll post what it was in a second but on to the photos. I will try to downsize the photos as i go.
For starters, 65 miles with ALL, not 1, not 2 or even 3 on one wheel.. but ALL the lug nuts on ALL the wheels where finger tight!!! So I snugged them up because there getting replaced soon.

Free dog, please take it, lol i hate that dog.

Dose this look safe to you? Because I know its not lol, real red neck style of work on this car... but luckly no 2x4s or 2x6s like most backwoods camaros lol. Yes that is the fuel line if any of you where wondering... running right over the top of the alt, by the alt fan, and the fuel pressure regulator mounted to the freaking windshild washer fluid box!

Even SAFER!!! (i left these pictures larger to show what i was talking about.

Link to the rest of the photos (let me know if they work for you if not i'll upload them to photobucket instead of facebook)

Looks like you've got some fun ahead. Better to fix it than send it to a scrap yard. And didn't the 92 Camaro's have the third brake light on the inside of the window? If so that hatch is from an older car.

Look at it this way...the body is in pretty good shape!
Re: Project NightMaro
I believe the hatch came off an older car (87-90 I think), but still an excellent project car. Correct me if I'm wrong fellow members, but when switching to carb (more specifically, bypassing the computer), you have to make a switch to lock up the converter since the computer did it before. Best of luck with it and keep it rolling!

Re: Project NightMaro
the TCC switch is a common cheap mod people do to get that effect of having a more built motor because often you can chirp the tires..... either way i would be happy with motor problems and not body that body looks straight

Re: Project NightMaro
Looks like a good starting point. Just needs some minor things.
To answer some of your questions:
1 - Yes, the third brake light on the 92's was mounted to the inside of the hatch at the top.
2 - Yes, when swapping to a carb with an automatic transmission the converter lockup will no longer function. The toggle switch on the dash will lock/unlock the converter. Assuming its wired correctly of course. You don't have to worry about the lockup function if you don't want to. It will cost you a few mpg on the highway, but I don't believe it will hurt the transmission.
3 - You'll want to move that throttle return spring in pic #1. Having it hooked on the vacuum line like that is a bad idea.
