Got another one
An abused but pretty low mile (80K km) Z28-E. It's a roller, no engine or trans. I bought it mainly because of the interior parts/plastics that I'll be using on my 82 trans am and it has a disc posi rear axle (I think it's a 10 bolt but will have to check), certainly better for now than the peg leg drum 10 bolt in the 82 TA now. It also has a nice Panasonic roof mount radio, for that 80s feel LOL. It also has the ugly dumbo mirrors ad the export rear lights and a wiper. The dash pad is pristine, might sell that one. What amazed me is the steering column and the seat belts. The column has a square-ish section behind the wheel w/ the key positions on it and the seat belt upper roll up mechanism is different than what I have in my 82 trans am. The seat belts will come in handy, they will go nicely w/ the black recaro seats and since they have no lower roll up mech. like the stockers in my 82 I can feed them through the seats.
Still pondering what to do w/ it after I take off the steering box, braces and other stuff I'll be using on the trans am.

Re: Got another one
Goofy but I've seen them go for big bucks for those people wanting to make their I think '87 GTA original again. Neat looking parts on that car, definally an interesting sight to see on the export, you should make a list of any more of the export differences, just for educational purposes.

Re: Got another one
This one is not even a V8, it was a V6 originally. Apparently you could order the Z28-E w/ a V6 because of the gas prices here, still it retains all the rest of the Z28 stuff but I think the suspension is a little softer than a real Z28. I'll have to see if the box is a quick ratio or not. I hope it is because I have a slow ratio in my trans am and want to use this one.
I have another set of those ugly mirrors somewhere. I swear they are the same ones that came on Porsche 928s, 924s and 944s

had no idea you could get the Z28 with a V6, that is pitiful LOL
I love the overhead radio, you should sell that thing, I'm sure some 80s freak would love to buy that.
That speedo face would be awesome retrofitted onto a standard MPH speedo...

Re: Got another one
I'm keeping the radio, those things are crazy expensive and I wanted it more than the rest of the car. I'm going to use it in the camaro just for giggles, I didn't have a radio it it anymore because that's where I put additional gauges.
I have a 0 mile MPH speedo in my camaro now but may swap over. I also have a km/h cluster for my TA which was converted to 90 electronic gauges. The new cluster is the same year. I like having it in km/h. My white 88 Iroc is a metric car too.

Yes, look at the pic w/ the steering wheel, the square section is behind the wheel. The acc/off/ign/start or whatever indicator thing is on the right

Yeah I can see that there is something there that is unusual, was just wondering if you had a head-on pic.

standard eq was a v8 but due to high gas prices a v6 could be special ordered, this car was originally sold right here in the Netherlands

Re: Got another one
they came in some lambos and ferraris but the worth depends on if it's working, complete w/ amps and what model. There's a 310, 610 and a 710 and the one in mine is a 610 w/ equalizer. I've seen 1 go for as little as 100 Euros but a broken one went for a lot more in the UK not long ago. I also saw one go for thousands on some Ferrari forum. Do you have one?

If it's shot, does it have an equalizer or is it a 610 model? I'm missing 1 of the slider *****

Mine's a RM-610E (roof mount 610 equalizer)
Here's a 610 and a 610E

This is a 310

a 710:

These things were popular in Lotus Esprits apparently

Nothing really, but that's a specific '82-'83 wheel as is your dash pad.
If you were closer and selling the wheel I'd be interested. Looks like the leather is worn but not twisted.
Another neat car you have there, by the way.

Re: Got another one
I knew the pad was unique to early camaros, I see now that the steering wheel down spoke is different indeed in that it has that bead in it. The leather on the wheel is fine, it's just the color that's rubbed off. Nothing a little dye can't fix. The dashpad is pristine without any cracks. Is that steering column early camaro specific too??

Nope, this one was a V6, 2.6L
Anyone know where the RPOs are on these things? Not in the center console, also not in the rear glove box.

Re: Got another one
OK, started pulling the interior after washing it a bit (too filthy to work on)

I noticed the underside of the GFX is gold, someone painted them black but originally this was a gold lower color car. Kind of a shame, I like black & gold
It's got all the early stuff like the cruise transducer, the firewall mounted windshield sprayers, a rear roof mounted sprayer for the rear windshield wiper.
How rare is a leather round shifter ****?
I also got some euro style amber outer grid style lights with a delete for the hinging rear license plate frame, it's got a plastic filler that fills the center w/ a hole for the rear hatch lock. Never seen it before. Probably rare too (don't have a pic, will take one later)
I found out some more details.
1st this is the funky steering column:

2nd,. the seat belts are different from any I've ever seen, thy are not US style in that they never lock apart from when there's significant acceleration/deceleration ot lateral forces on the locking pendulum mechanism. These are euro style, they lock when you pull the belt quickly/firmly. The receptacles are different too. The rear side panels have delete panels over the stock seat belt slot as the rears have no roll up mechanisms. I'm going to use those and delete the rear belts in the TA.

The round leather shift **** is not rare at all. Standard fare on Z/28 and IROC-Z from '82-'86.
That steering column is different though. I've never seen one like that. Neat car!

it's a pos, some minor rust here and there, cracked upper body corners by door glass, 1 fender is toast, 1 door has a rust hole, the rad frame is bent. I'm going to use the good parts off it and scrap the rest

Yeah, the radio was a big selling point for me too
I already removed it and am going to test it. Good thing I have the electrical schematics for all the circuits of it in case it's toast.
Looks like the steering column is a euro item too. Another guy here w/ an 82 Export has the same column
The VIN on the car is 1G1AP8710DN185116
the 8th digit being 1 confirms it's a LC1 V6. LOL
What's weird is, that it's got "AP" FP = Camaro Coupe. What's AP? Export Coupe? It IS an A, not an F.
The interior is in good shape, although it's a little dirty it's all complete and no cracks or rips. I hope the carpet cleans up so I can use it. The plastic will be fine.

Also, I confirmed the axle is a 10 bolt posi w/ disc brakes. The brakes are junk, the posi appears to be good. I'll use it, it's at least a lot better than the open drum 10 bolt that came off the TA.

Very interesting car mate! That radio on the roof is perfect 80's, would be great in a Knight Rider car as it makes it look like an aircraft!!
