Re: would i get flamed?

Try using some blue painters tape & see how ut looks? I think a thinner stripe should look better.

Re: would i get flamed?

Personally I do not see a problem in adding the striping from a different model year since the car is not completely stock anyways.

I had plans to do something similar myself using the 1985-1987 Z28 stripe kits and painting the car and GFX in one of the Z28 colour combinations, even if my car is a 1989 RS.

I guess that is one of the advantages of not trying to keep the car stock by all means. It leaves you the possibility to apply modifications to your personal taste.

Re: would i get flamed?

I never saw the striping as a definitive IROC thing just a minor detail.. I took it off of my IROC

I mean putting the IROC-Z decals on the doors would be pretty hilarious but plenty of cars have stripes on them go for it

Re: would i get flamed?

Yeah I think that'd look great man, do what you want with it. It's not like you're putting the "IROC-Z" decal on it. I think the matching intake would be sweet too.

I'd focus on fixing the paint the car already has, first.

Re: would i get flamed?

Stripe idea looks good on any black car. Finish the hood by chance?

Re: would i get flamed?

Do what you want, in confidence.
if someone hates on it, they can take their opinions and shove it up...yeah.

Errks me, when I see people regret their choices (in general) the moment theyre criticized...dont be afraid to be different, ya know?

IMO, the blue trim makes the generic black look more interesting.

Re: would i get flamed?

It's your car do what you want. I think the stripes are in good taste and will compliment your car greatly. It would be a totally different subject if you were tying to misrepresent the car by saying it was an IROC after putting the stripes on it.

Re: would i get flamed?

if you like the breakup of the color, consider just a rocker stripe that doesn't wrap around.

Flames just don't look right on third gen cars, however I probably just haven't seen the right flame job.
