The grille is homemade, the yearone plate was just to fill in the front

You must get some odd looks driving that around Norway. You'd get looks here in Texas, but up there I can't amagine. Are there any car shows up there?

It turns a few heads. We got some carshows here, we have a club called ACCN (american car club of norway) they arrange alot of shows, and there are local clubs arranging car shows through the summer to.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Started searching for my first car in January, everyday just scanning different websites and contacting potential sellers. I didn't and still don't have a steady cash flow so my parents were lending me the money to buy a car and they were being sceptical about actually purchasing a car for me.
In june I was about 6 hours from buying an 86 IROC when the owner called me and said he sold it for $200 more than our agreed price.. I was so sad but in in July I found my car on craigslist (91 RS), it looked good in the pictures so me and my dad went to take a look at it. When I saw it I fell in love, a few scrapes here and there but no rust or damage and the interior was mint. I took it for a drive and told my dad I wanted it. We told the owner we would give him a call the next morning if we were going to come back to buy it. I could tell my parents were in a tight spot because they didnt want to give me the money but the car was too good to let the opportunity pass by. We bought it the next day for 3300. The owner said he had a lot of interest from kids my age but he turned them all away because he didn't want his car going to them. I guess my talk about how I've always wanted one and what my plans were made him trust me with it.
I haven't done anything to the engine yet but heres the list of what I have done:
-Seat covers
-DEH 1300mp deck
-Red LED Humount
-I swapped my dash/dome light to red LED
-Painted the stock red rims to red/black
-New EGR Valve (I had one from my dads old cavalier)
Nothing special to most people on here but I'm slowly going to make the car mine. I plan on putting heritage stripes on and upgrading my exhaust and suspension when I get a job.

Nope. All airbrushed. You can tell when you get up close. There's a little bit of red overspray on the passenger side window where the guy was painting the skelliton. Plus he painted part of the hand over the passenger side door . Other then those two minor things he did a great job. Click on my sig link for better pics here at TGO.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
well i started with this RS in 2005. My wife bought it for me so it became my baby really fast, i had been after a camaro for a few years now by this time so she went and bought one for me. This was the last pic i took days before it changed
This is what happen to me when i was cut off on the freeway coming home from a car meet
now i know it doesnt look bad at all. well the unibody was bent like crazy on a flat suface the driver side wheel was off the ground and straight and the passenger side wheel was shoved back into the fender. i had about about a month left before i was planning on driving it back to ft worth from las vegas. so i had to act quickly and decide to cut my loses. i went and took the money and bought my camaro back just to strip all the parts off her and either sell them off or find another camaro. well i was lucky enough to find a very clean 89 convertible with a blown motor.
like i said i was very lucky to find this car with no rust in any spot. it is a vegas car so now snow salt even rain lol. the body was all complete but the motor was shot the tranny didnt shift and the interior was light gray and in other words very dirty and it had the 20s on it wich im not a big fan of. the stripes are not my prefrence since i like to be different. by the time i bought this car i had two weeks left before i was supposed to drive it to texas. let the games begin.
as i brought the car home to stip down
didnt know if i was going to like the SS hood on the VERT
interior coming out since it is black
and the lowering springs as well

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
I've got a good story for you guys if you care to read.
Traded a 1995 GMC jimmy with over 200k on the clock for this 1992 25th Anniversary Camaro:
She was a 305v8 with the T5 manual trans. Pretty much bone stock with a few bolt on's. She wasnt very pretty so the work began:
Worked on it all winter long and here is the end result from the project:
I loved this car as it was my first "project" car and I put a lot of time and love into this car to make it presentable. The car was a 2nd car and a "toy" so when it time to buy a house and get married and move on with my life I needed some $$. I swore I never wanted to sell the car but I figured getting married and buying a house was more of a priority. So I sold the car and bought a engagement ring and use the rest towards a down payment on a house.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
The story continues:
I proceeded with the plans to get married bought a house and all happy blah blah blah, there was always a void. I have a three car garage and had the itch to put a project in it. I started searching craigslist lightly and found what I thought was a sign. I found another 1992 Chevy camaro 25th anniversary in my area for sale. I had to look at it. So I did, the owner was amazing and after talking to him for many hours I wanted the car and he wanted me to own it. I wasnt married yet and the wedding was a mere 2 weeks away, I thought there was no way I could buy a car.
After talking to the girlfriend (wife now) she told me to buy the car. She knew I sold my baby and project to make her happy and start our lives together. Well I knew she was the right one for me when she told me not to go home without that car. So here is the new baby and project.
She is better then the last, but needs a lot of the same work. Its a swapped 350 with a T5 manual backing it up. Mildly built and runs great. I have already started tearing into the engine and started to work on things. She needs a lot of the same body work that I did and paint so I got a project back!
Just love how things fall into place.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Just bought a 92 RS B4C 1LE Camaro. It's a 350/automatic car that was never put into service and only has 74,000 documented miles. Other than a dealer repaint and a Z28 hood its totally stock.
I'm in the process of tracing the history of the car, here's what I know so far. According to the invoice (GM archives) it was ordered by and shipped to a dealer in MI that deals a lot with police vehicles, unfortunately they tell me they no longer have records for the car. According to Car Fax it was first titled in March of 1994 with 11k miles on it (I have a copy of that title). That's very strange, but that fits with the story the second owner was told by the dealer he bought it from in FL. He was told they got the car from GM and that an Executive/Manager of GM had driven the car the entire 11k miles. It's pure speculation, but I guess that also kind of fits with the fact that it is a very high optioned car and it fits with GM being in MI where the car was shipped to. I wish I had a way to verify that information.
I have spoken to that owner and he was kind enough to tell me all the stories and history of his 17 years of owning the car. I also have most all of the receipts from the work he had done on the car over the 17 years he had it. He then sold it to a guy this past Spring that after only a few months of ownership he decided he had to many cars and put it up for sale. I bought it from him a couple months ago.
Being a inland Florida car that was kept inside almost all of its life it has no rust at all and is in unbelievable shape for a car that's almost 20 years old. The few things it has needed is a good cleaning and detailing, a new exhaust pipe (the 2 original cats and muffler are still on the car and in great shape), new tires, a tie rod, a heater core, some radio work, refinished wheels (I kept the originals) and removal of the tint that been on the car for 17 years. It runs and drives great. I feel very lucky to have found such a nice RS.
Thanks to everyone that takes time to post on the forum. The wealth of information and knowledge on this forum is amazing and it really makes it easy to learn about my car.
Here is a cell phone pic of it getting tires and an alignment.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Oh. I forgot to post my story. I had just turned 17, and I had some cash, and my parents said they would match whatever I saved up. I had about $2700 (counting the money my parents would give me). I bought an Auto trader and realized that there wasn't going to be anything in there that I could afford (there was a nice 1000hp Twin Turbo C6 Vette for $55,000). I decided Creigslist would be better, especially sence all the cars would be local. I looked there and I found tons of 2nd and 3rdgens (I really wanted a 75 RS). Then I found this. Said $3000, bad trans, and great condish, always garaged, new weatherstripping, 25th aniv. RS. I looked at the paint, and the fact that it had a bad trans and needed new tires bad. I wanted something I could drive right away, so I overlooked it. I found other cars, sent out emails, left messages, etc... and I got no replies.
Couple days went by, and I went back online to look at that sweet paint job again, and decided it would be worth a call. I got an imediate responce from the guy, he obviously really wanted to sell the car and hadn't gotten many calls. My parents saw the car and decided we could go take a look at it. So we did. My dad test drove it and we realized the trans really was bad. It was dirty and the interior needed a little TLC, but other than that, it was great. I loved the smell the interior had, it smelt like the 82 Z28 my dad used to have. I was sold. My parents decided they would buy me the car if I paid for insurence and any repairs/upgrades. It was my reponsibility. We talked him down to $2800 and had a tow truck pick it up and take it to a place to get the transmission rebuilt. I paid $1700 for the rebuild plus a shift kit and a life time warrenty. $200 for registration and tax. My parents lent me the money I didn't have until I could pay them back (which I have). I sold the extra set of aftermarket rims it came with for close to $400, so that helped.
I just bought a new Dynomax cat back super turbo exhaust system for $110 ($10 coupon plus $75 rebate), Came with a syper turbo muffler with dual split exit tail pipes. And after i finish school I'm gonna buy some new tires, switch to an oped air filiment, and apply some more clear coats to protect that awsome paint. After that i am def. going to get better flowing headers, y-pipe, and cat. Then a I'll swap to a 350 and a 4thgen rear end. I have big plans for this car. I cant drive it yet, but I regret nothing.
Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
damn, I'm not sure my car belongs in a thread with such amazing cars, but here goes...
I bought my RS right after I turned 40, jokingly telling my wife that now that I'm 40 I was ready to have a mid life crisis, so she got to choose if I got to get a sporty hobby car or I got to have an affair. (remember, she knew it was a joke) She said "what kind of car do you want?"
We had a 85 sport coupe a few years earlier, and from that I knew a few things... I wanted a car with ground effects, manual windows, and a 5 speed. I found a V6 car that fit the bill locally for $1100, and talked the guy down to $900. It was solid, but needed paint, and AC.
For almost two years I've been making small mods and improvements to it, but this summer I tore it down, repainted it, replaced the interior, and made it the ultimate daily driver. Modern improvements like remote entry and hatch release, slide out cup holder, MP3 input on the factory stereo, and a smooth V6 that gets 25 MPG makes this a car I want to drive every single day.
the day I brought it home..
after the first, temporary paint job...
sanded down, repainting it
done!

Yah man, clean ride no doubt. But Ron is right. Looks like a stockish LO3 TBI 305 to me. Not that you can really tell just by looking with these engines, but based on just looking, I highlighted the areas that look really similar (not to knock your ride, just have way too much time on my hands):

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Hey guys,
I have a 92 Camaro RS that I've had since December of 2010. Heres my story;
I've always loved third gen camaros ever since my dad had a 1985 White v6 Sport coupe (Artic White like mine). I've always wanted one since he got rid of that car when I was 8 years old. Soon enough, once I turned 17 I started looking for thirdgen's. After months of looking for the right car, I found this car. It wasn't in perfect shape but I loved the stripes and the fact it was a T5.
Car runs mint for 134k. L03 with open element, hi flow cat and 3 in exhaust with 80 series flowmaster (headers soon!). Replaced the entire braking system due to shitty rotten brake lines, Tokicos in the rear (still have to put in new tokicos in the front), had to buy new tires(went with kumhos ASX's, i actually like them), New headliner, Ripped drivers seat (******* repair on that), Chipped paint on the front spoiler and roof, did a tune-up,starter on the car as well. Also, poly sway bar bushings all around! This car is a blast to drive and love ripping through the gears in the t5. Only bought the car for 2k but had to put the work into it too...

I seen the areas circled in the pics above in yellow....everything that could be reused was...At the time the motor went out I didn't have the extra cash for upgrades. With it being my daily driver I had to get it back on the road fast.

John I love that truck! Really nice job on both cars. Where did you get the taillight covers?
Skelitor, thanks for the compliment. Paint job really makes your car stand out!

No I do not. The owner that was 2 owners ago I think put them on. I have no history on that car. Other than I know it was in a small accident. I love the stripes though

My 92 RS the day I got it (Late November 2010):
As you can probably guess, it definitely was not road worthy when I bought it. The engine was blown, and disassembled by the PO, who never got around to fixing it. I got it with hopes of returning it to it's former glory.
A few weeks later:
The rebuilt motor:
Still a mess, but at least it ran -- Since then it's been a few minor changes & upgrades, but unfortunately right now a lack of funding is keeping me from really doing what i'd like to with it. You can read more & see a lot more pictures here if interested: My 92 Camaro RS Project

Swapped out my cat back exhaust for a Dynomax Superturbo cat back system. Man the stock exhaust was such a peice of crap. Horrible material uzed for the piping, plus the intermediate pipe is actually two half pipes wealded together. Here's the new system. MUCH better.

Pictures circa 1999, when I bought the car before I got new tires:
From the very first night I had it...needed a thorough cleaning, had been sitting in storage for some time and I ran out of daylight beyond being able to do a very quick hose off:
Still have the ad from Autotrader too:
Car was originally purchased from Schaull & Ullerich Chevrolet in Blairstown, IA by a female attorney. I believe the dealership exists today under the name Thys Chevrolet. Google images gives me very little, but from what I gather, it's a very small, rural dealership. Car was stored winters but at the time the woman's then boyfriend (later husband, whom showed the car to us for her) lived in Illinois or Indiana (don't recall) and they would take turns driving to each others' places on the weekends, so it racked up mileage that way during the summer. Car was then sold to me in 1999 out of New Prague, MN, and I've had it ever since. I've now had the car for more than half of its life thereby making me the rightful owner, and nearly half of mine. In another two years I'll have had it the majority of my life.

Car: 92 25th anniversary edition
Engine: 305
Transmission: 700R-4

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Hi everyone, I'm not new to the site but haven't been on in a long time so I had to re-register. I just picked up a '92 RS for my wife as her new daily driver. We've owned two previous 3rd gens, a white 87 RS and a black 89 RS. The white one was a V-6 car that I had rebuilt the 2.8L and the trans and added IROC rims to it. Drove that car for 5 years and it got stolen. Then I got the 89 RS and had built a 383 stroker engine and added weld wheels but never finished the car so I sold it. I owed her another camaro so here it is...
It's a 25th anniversary edition, 5.0L, auto, 2.73's. It needs some minor work but overall a good car. Future plans call for either a 350 TPI or a LS1 swap. I'm gonna redo the trans and put in a posi and some better gears.
