I will be putting up a video once I get it installed, I had the Borla on there for a few years but I thought that it was a time to change it up a little.

Re: Just Like Christmas!

This is currently my top choice for an exhaust system, can't wait to see detailed pics of it installed (please tell me you didn't get the optional tips).

The million dollar question though, are these $700 glorified glasspacks?

As a glorified glass pack system...maybe but I have heard this set up on the 4th Gen. cars and they sound amazing and yes I did get the oval tips too, they will be tucked nicely under the bumper...I didn't like the regular round tips that it comes with!

Re: Just Like Christmas!

Any chance you could snap a few pics of it installed before you put the oval tips on? If I get it I'm going to omit the oval tips, I just want the simple pipes.

Re: Just Like Christmas!

I agree that they sound great... I did a "make it yourself" gmmg using some of the chambered powersticks from classic chambered....

If any of you happen to be in the New Orleans area, theres a guy on craigslist with a used gmmg setup for like 500.

Here's what went on at the shop today!

A beautiful 1967 Mustang...

A 2011 Nissan GTR (No work done to that, just outside parked...neighbours car)

My Borla Exhaust coming off...then cleaned...

And the Bad Boy GMMG install...then with the Oval Tips, finished and it sounds killer!

Videos of the Borla first...then the GMMG...

Borla Clip...

GMMG Clip...

I had a buddy of mine came and pick up the Borla System that he bought off of me and he shot some footage of me taking off, I guess that it was pretty loud...just waiting for the link to video and I will post it once I get it!

Sounds great, I was hoping for pics of it installed without the tips, but also without the bubblewrap, lol.

Damn I forgot to get that, but you can see where the actual pipe ends before the tips...about 4" in underneath!

Here is a clip with the car just in idle at home...popcorn anyone?

Re: Just Like Christmas!

There is a '91 Formula with Ronals getting an LS1 on the lift beside the Mustang...

Andy rebuilt the L98 in my '89. In fact it should be over at the shop this week from the paint booth for new tires and cert.

Re: Just Like Christmas!

Very nice, makes me want to ditch my Hooker (Which I love right now) and go GMMG.

One random question, what Lightining or bulbs I should say are you running in your gauges? I need to upgrade mine badly.

Re: Just Like Christmas!

Sound great, that is one of my next steps, need to get the exhust, Motor is going in next week or so, was looking at the Maghaflow and Borla but this may be an option now. Thanks for putting up all the clips, wondner how it would sound with out comming out as far with the tips. Between my Z06 and the neighbors 70 Charger (440) we wake up the entire block when we come home late.

The tips don't make make a difference in the sound, they are only cosmetic to be honest but it would sound the same!

Re: Just Like Christmas!

I figured, but thought if they turned down it mat deflect the sound a bit. I keep most of my cars in a storage building at my shop, I take home what I feel like driving (besides my daily 08 F150) I was trying to keep this one a bit quieter, but the motor and super charger will come it at over 500 HP. I dont really think anything will be too quiet, I have Borla on the Z06 and the 69Z will have Walkers preformance line, really do appreciate all the sound clips, makes a huge differance being able to hear it on another 3rd gen.

Re: Just Like Christmas!

Yeah it will be loud but at least it will have a nice rumble and it's 50 state legal! I used to have the Borla on mine before the GMMG and I had never had a problem with the cops unless you step on it lol!

Re: Just Like Christmas!

Not so much the cops, I know most of them lol, its the nieghborhood when I come home late from a cruise or hanging at the shop with buddies until late. I get up real early (0400) been doing it since I was 18. Try starting up a car in the garage at that hour to go get a paper and bagel on the weekend, I have actualy pushed a car out and closed the door before i started it. The wife is very cool, she digs the fast cars and such (we have been matrried 21 years she has no choice now) but she is not a morning person.
