New Here 92 Camaro RS
Hey all! I'm new to this forum as tomorrow I am picking up a 92 Camaro RS. It's a fixer upper for sure, but I'm excited to start! I've always loved the 3rd gen camaro's since I was 6. I'll post pictures of the Camaro once I get it. It's currently not running, cause there is a wire short in the coil somewhere. It's got aftermarket heads, cam, and exhaust. It's the 305 TBI v8. It's missing the front ground effects, so I'll have to find one of those somewhere. Any suggestions?

Re: New Here 92 Camaro RS
Well come to the site. I too have a fixer up 92 RS, but mine does run and drive right now. Too bad your not close as I this past weekend I found a chin in the local Pull a Part-that never happens, seems the chin is the first part to go at the yard. Good luck on the project and you can learn alot from this site as long as you read, read, and read someone.

Re: New Here 92 Camaro RS
So, I've replaced the battery and alternator, but the battery still isn't getting charged. The alternator passed with flying colors, and the battery is good, any ideas where the charge is going?

Nice project.
Check out Hawks third gen or thirdgenranch for your missing GFX.
There haven't been many third gens in the local(Utah) wrecking yards lately, and often the GFX are already missing or trashed.

Re: New Here 92 Camaro RS
Looking good man! Have you dug into that engine bay yet!? I couldn't wait, I put in a 350 and carbed it, not a beast but much more satisfying than the stock motor

Oh, I want to! But I just really don't have the know-how. My friend has a stock lt1 that I might try to get, but I wouldn't know how to drop it in!

Re: New Here 92 Camaro RS
350 swaps are simpler, just swap the motor and all the old accessories stay on, you can use the tbi but you need a 350 chip and injectors. For that you get a whole lot more tire burning torque 😁. Then when u get rich you can build a real beast

Re: New Here 92 Camaro RS
Ah, I see! Sadly though, I might be selling the camaro. It needs a bit to pass safety, and my DD has been having issues.
