My '84 Z28
Well I figured it was time to show you guys what I have.

1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with T5 nonWC 5-Speed
I found it when I was looking for a new car. I had actually gone down to look at a 2011 Civic Si (I know..), but this was sitting next to it. How could I pass that up?
The paint is not stock, but whoever painted it did a great job. There's some minor area where the paint isn't so well, due to rubbing of the hood/doors and the bumper is warped. Its still a very solid car. Has around 70,000 (I think, I'll check tomorrow) orginal miles on the body. The Previous owner had swapped a GM Goodwrench 350 Crate motor into it. I bought it in April of 2012. Taught myself how to drive a stick on the way home.
The whole steering and suspension was shot. There was a stupid amount of looseness in the steering box. Once on a drive-on rack, I saw how bad everything else was. Within a month, I had another $700 into it. New center link, inner/outter tie-rods, adj. sleeves, idler arm, steering box, swaybar bushings front and back, Swaybar endlinks front and back, new KYB Gas-a-just struts front and back. I was in over my head and didn't even know it.
I toyed around with the Camaro for a few months just enjoying the weather. It became my daily during the summer because I couldn't put the keys down. It was a joy to drive. After a while, I decided that the 350 wasn't enough. Low power, and just slow. I also broke a shift fork in the trans, so limping around in 2nd was having its toll on the clutch.
My father, the best in the world, built me a 26x24 detached garage to house this new monster. So once October came around, I took it off the road and parked it. Within days, the motor and trans was missing. Sent the trans off to be refreshed. Bought new shift forks to replace the 1-2 I broke. Bought a rebuild kit to freshen it up. When the shop tore it down, we found out that the counter shaft had some battle wounds where the cap bearing had a frozen roller. So I had to buy a new cluster gear. $1000 later, the trans is completely new, and I just picked it up today.
The motor is getting some upgrades as well. The CCC wasn't doing the job for me. It had some crazy idle settings. Very high at 1,600rpm; very low at ~450rpm, and a nice, but rare, idle at ~650. So I bought a 750 CFM Holley with vac sec. Bought a cam kit from CompCams. XE 274. Found a Edelbrock performer intake for dirt cheap. New oil pump, 1.5 RR, and some other things were also purchased for the motor. I'm getting ready to put it back together here pretty soon.
So that's the story of my Camaro up to this date. Hoping to have it on the road by the end of the month.

Looks like a beautiful 84. I love those early third gen Z-28s. Post more pictures when you get a chance and be sure to let us know how the engine work goes.
