Re: !985 Iroc Complete build
Ended up have to drive my truck into a ditch in front of my house, removed the tailgate, hooked it up to the stand and after a lot of effort got it into the garage.

Sold the heads and intake manifold for $150

That is because i got these nice old 062 vortec heads for $200

350 Engine:
bore it out 30 over
vortec heads
edelbrock vortec intake manifold
keep the tpi injection
no clue for cam or anything else really
Transmission
t56 swap
Interior
keep all original except add new speakers, head unit, and amp
Steering, suspension, brakes
just go over everything
Any suggestions?

Re: 1985 Iroc Complete build
The SDPC vortec intake is the same as the Edelbrock, but $100 cheaper.
I would recommend you research options for modifying the Vortec heads for higher valve lift, otherwise you're going to be limited to about .450" of valve lift, which will pretty much eliminate every good cam on the market.

Re: 1985 Iroc Complete build
I went into the electronics forum and searched "dash" up at the top near thread tools. As far as finding pocket's posts, you can try going to 'member list' and going to the 'P' section. I'm not trying to be a ****, but I'm sitting in Afghanistan (with my car in the states, and I'm stationed in Europe), and get on here when I'm bored. As far as cleaning up and repairing your harness, when I did my '91 RS, I used both the Chiltons and Haynes manuals, working a little at a time cleaning up and zip-tying everything together the finally putting it back into the loom. If you can read a wiring diagram, you should be able to find the wires used in the conversion from automatic to manual transmission. Don't quote me (it's been years since I've had a third-gen apart), but I believe most of the wires are already on the automatic shifter, and just need to be moved to the clutch/brake pedals.

Re: 1985 Iroc Complete build
yea i was planning on building the engine myself just didnt seem rational or price effective. $1200 would only cover the machine work. This way i get it all done with a warranty. I just want to find a better cam then stock..

Re: 1985 Iroc Complete build
I think the lt1 stock cam has .447/.459" lift not positive but that shuldnt be too hot for the vortec heads
