Hi everybody I just recently bought a 1989 Camaro Iroc-z g92 package car not to familiar about That package car has no engine at the moment I bought it as a roller but I do have the T5 transmission and all the engine accessories including the tpi setup I'm new to the fbody world but not new to the Chevys I also own a 1984 Monte Carlo Ss I hope to learn more about these lovely cars since I will be needing help along the way the Iroc is a rust free 55k car I'm going to try to load some pics hope I can figure it out. Thanks
Car has a couple minor problems its missing a ground effect on the drivers side needs paint due to a car cover over the years I believe
Best of luck to you! I am the proud and ORIGINAL owner of a 1987 dark metallic red/saddle 1887 IROC. Original 305 TPI/ 5-speed car. I ordered in February of 1987 and took delivery June 1 due to strike. I don't have leather but same color combination. Getting ready to do 4th engine, this time LS conversion (LS3 based/ T56)
Welcome.....

Same here but different color 87, ordered February, delivered in April, also LB9/MM5/G92.
That car is awesome man. Great base for an Ls swap. I actually purchased the 305 out of that car from Rob in April.
What are your plans for it?
Cant wait to see.
Well as of now I'm going to put it all back together since he started taking it all apart once that's done I want to build a mild 355 to put back in it to enjoy the car for awhile before I repaint it Ls swap will be done later on more than likely a 6.0 swap
Congrats on your purchase, great car. I was following the sale on a Texas THIRD GEN FB group. The seller was considering turning it into a race car and sold the original 305 out of it. I was glad to see you pick it up. IIRC it's a 5 speed, g92, N10, rust free car, should be a hoot once you drop an engine in it.

Congrats! That is a VERY RARE car. Figure about 300-400 G92 5 speeds were produced that year, and some consider the '89's as the best year.
Pity the previous owner disassembled it. That is exactly the kind of IROC-Z which will appreciate in value the fastest. It sounds like you also got the original drivetrain?
Just reread your original post. 55K miles? If you can "lovingly" reassemble your car to near factory condition, you will have something worth some money.

You got some fun ahead of you. Hopefully you can have it ready for next years Thirdgen Roundup.

Yes I wish he would have kept the 305 but it's still a nice car it's disassembled but everything is there besides the front carpet and the drivers side ground effect. I will have it running for the next round up but she won't be show quality car we will be there there. I didn't know there was only 4-500 5 speed g92 that year. I've had a guy offer me 3500 for the car already but I'm not going to sell it it's too nice of a car I won't be able to find another in this condition for the same price. I'll post some pics today of the engine bay it's really clean.

Awesome car! ...and if you're looking to keep to original, not only were there pretty low numbers for g92 cars, you also have the gold/Beechwood, with LEATHER no less. I have cloth beechwood in mine. I find that the rarity of cosmetic options by themselves don't necessarily translate to value, but when they START off rare due to a performance package option like G92/T5, add to that a rare appearance option, and it can add value. ALTHOUGH...for some reason I have yet understand, people still seam to like gray better. ...so the beechwood may hurt. Who knows, but I LIKE IT!!!!!
