Here's my pic compilation of my Flame Red 1988 IROC
It's a loaded TPI car with my favorite interior (Gray leather/cloth)
31k original miles
Per previous owner, never saw rain or snow. I could not find any rust anywhere on the car. Wheel wells, door jams, underneath..
Interior is a 9.9 out of 10. Two pieces of the ASC trim have small cracks you can't see when the top is down, but all the GM interior pieces are mint including the original floor mats. I will fix those trim pieces! My Chevy dealership said they would love to have this in the showroom if I ever wanted to trade for a new one.. No thanks!
The paint was way better than I expected for a 28 year old car. It looks original with all the factory labels and decals but was definitely detailed and maintained. The factory orange peel is still visible.
Was a police chief's weekend car.
The car is much quicker than I expected and really fun even with an auto. It shifts nice and sporty like I remember from the 5.7 IROCs I've driven.
Not a drip of oil or anything else on the garage floor through the winter
The only thing not stock about the car is the Magnaflow muffler, but it sounds awesome so I'm fine with that..
And it has an Alpine head unit with iPod cable and Alpine speakers, but I do have the original radio and speakers in boxes.. He also saved the manuals and brochure in plastic sleeves.. Owners manual looks like it was never opened..
The rims look brand new with no clear issues, scratches or rash.. I've owned low mile third gens and never had wheels this perfect.
By far my favorite color combo ever and glad I found this car!
I like how the red decals aren't super noticeable unless you get up close or the sun hits the side of the car:
Love the Flame and Dark Red IROCs and GTAs!

I meant to put this in the members cars thread.. Wasn't supposed to be its own thread.. I was bored getting stood up for a business meeting.. Ha ha damn iPhone..
I have a hairline crack in the bow trim.. I had a thread about it before.. They don't make a replacement for the 87 & 88 style verts..
It's right above where the handle release for the top is so I'm just careful when I release the handle. The GM plastic isn't great, but the ASC trim is pretty low quality..
The consensus was to reinforce it, glue it, sand it and paint it.
The only ones I've seen for sale were also cracked. Must be a common issue, but I'm super crazy about keeping my cars as showroom new as possible.
I'm hoping someone will eventually make a replacement as there seem to be a lot of 88 verts out there..
