My work in progress
My work in progress
I bought this car about a month ago for $1000. When I bought it wasn't getting any fire so I changed the Ignition control module started right up. How ever it needs a lot of work. The cooling fan isn't working. The people I bought it from have the fan wired straight into the car with a on and off switch. I was hoping it was the motor changed it still wasn't working. I checked all the wiring and its getting power. I plan to rewire it back the right way maybe that will solve the problem. I'll post some pictures of it soon.
The next thing is the exhaust has a leak and all the pipes are rusted and corroded really bad. It needs quite a bit of interior work. The dash board is cracked in several different places and is not bolted in at all. The door panels are cracked and needs new headliner. The seats and floor board carpet are in pretty good shape though. It needs a good bit of other work too there's a lot of rust and neglect from the previous owners. Pictures coming up.

Welcome aboard backyardmecanic (and razor99).
Sounds like quite a project, but it's fun bringing things back to life.

It's an exhaust hanger.
Keep plugging away at it and it'll get going again. I've been tinkering around with mine, when money permits it, for almost four years now. I've actually never even driven the car!

good looking car, fair warning, it's addicting lol... the more you fix the more you want to tackle yourself, I've been working on mine for about 10 months now and I'm actually going to attempt to reupholster my headliner this weekend

careful with the headliner. I tried recovering mine and a piece of cloth was misaligned. when I pulled on it, it tore the entire top layer off. it was useless after that.

I got the fabric for $40, enough to try twice. figured if i cant get it right ill go the ABS route. i was planning on going ABS from the start but for the price I can't pass up the opportunity to try it.
