Got a 89 V6 auto for nothing. Plans are to make a streetcar/autocross car. I’m friends with the owner of UMI Motorsports and their shop is only 15 min from my house. So lots of help with the autocross part and lots of suspension to buy.

UMI has a track and they did an autocross this past August. I rode with a buddy in his 91 1LE Z28. I’m hooked!

For now I’m just gonna swap out the V6 for a 305 or 350. Do some suspension stuff and have some fun. Down the road an LS and 6spd.

If you leave the paint exactly how it is, give it all the performance, stance, and wheel set up, that thing will look wicked. Any idea how it looks underneath?

Not sure. Going to go this weekend and pull up the carpet and check it out. Hoping for the best but not very optimistic. If the floor is shot I will find another one and use this as a parts car. I do already have a disc rear end for it.

Was kinda worried about that, the way she's laying on/near the ground in those photos.

Looking at one on Friday. It’s a buddy’s. I didn’t even know he had it. Says it’s in good shape and runs good. 85 V8 auto car. Needs interior but I have mostly good interior parts. Hopefully this one works out for me.

Went and looked at the 85 today. Body is solid all the way around and not one speck of rust on the floors. Has 350 with auto. $1800. The interior is junk but I can get that from my other car.

Only thing I don't like is it's a Berlinetta with the digital dash and funky controls.

There’s so many of these cars being parted you can make it what you want.

Im glad we don’t have snow down here. That looks horrible

Re: Joined the 3rd gen club.
Went and got it started today. It's been sitting for a couple years but put in a new battery and it fired right up.The dash and light pods don't work so I will have to either repair them or find used ones. That could be an issuse as they are hard to find cause it is a Berlinetta with the funky controls and digital dash. I got new seats already from a salvage yard out of a 4th gen. The rest of the interior doesn't look as bad as I first thought. Even the dash pad is in great shape. It will need new carpeting and a major cleaning though.Once I get it home I will get it cleaned up and start the process of going over everything on the car I will start a new thread with all the details as it comes along. Got a long way to go to make it a autocross/ street car, but have a nice rust free car to start with witch is hard to come buy in central PA.
