Just Joined, Introducing Myself & My Ride...

Hey everyone, just recently joined this site so I thought I would introduce myself and my ride. I'm from Regina, Sask., Canada, 18 years old and about 2 months ago I bought a 1990 Trans Am GTA (350 TPI). I couldn't be happier these cars are awesome and it's nice to have something everyone else doesn't have "Cough Ford Mustangs Cough" lol..anyway, it has about 160,000km's or 99,000 miles but the engine was rebuilt 2 years ago for $5000 (have receipt) so that was awesome ...anyway nice being a member here now (been a member over at the GTA Sourcepage for awhile) so here are a couple pictures...enjoy, Josh Sorry for the bad quality...these pictures look alot better on the site I use to host them...oh well

All Stock as you can see except since that picture I have a K&N Air Filter and things look a little cleaner...

Well I bought it 2 hours north from Regina in a small town called Wynyard so I had to travel a bit but not too much...Josh

Re: Just Joined, Introducing Myself & My Ride...

You could still get a 350 T-top in 1990?? Check your VIN for the 8 that =350 an F=305

Nice car though

Re: Just Joined, Introducing Myself & My Ride...

those look like the aftermarket t-tops. I would recommend a set of good SFC's as a first mod.

Yeah the T-Tops are aftermarket...were on the car when I bought it....and yes I have the 8 in my VIN...checked all the codes awhile ago to make sure it's a true GTA and everything else...

SFC'S=sub frame connectors- they connect the sub frame together, so they reduce body twist. In your case you dont want this because it will make your tops leak. Nice car.

They do look like CnC tops from that pic. They still leak, just in different places than the GM ones. IMO they're easier to fix, but much harder to get parts for.

Yeah they are the Cars and Concepts T-Tops...glad they were in the car already when I bought it...wanted a T-Top car, but they do leak sometimes but not in the middle just at the top of the side windows, and I hear sub frame connectors are only necessary for cars pushing out lots of horse power...my car is all stock exept K&N Filter so are they necessary? Thanks, Josh

Even stock thirdgens will benefit greatly from the connectors, since these cars, especially with t-tops, have a lot of chassis flex.
