My 89 Formula Clone
I have an 84 bird, Complete formula replica, My car was an original V6, yay cheaper insurance. Motor's a 350 bored .040 over, with some camel hump heads ported and polished. Turbo350 Trans, 3.27 Borg warner posi disk to replace the old 3.23 open rear drum that rear i got for $50.. Anyway heres some pics! I restored the entire interior except the headliner yet, spent $70 on the inside, $50 for 2000 Camaro seats, $20 for the rest of the interior Including both carpets. I got a whole front clip off my cousin because he owed me money, his formula rotted out but the front clip was brand new, the hood is mint too. Ill be painting those to match.
Welding two holes in the floor caused from drainplugs, Also cut out the bar for split seats so i could fit my 4thgen one piece back in there.

Interior when i got it:

Interior Now:

Whatcha guys think so far? it'll be done in spring, minus paint and headliner, but it will drive. Everything on the car is new or awesome condition, All new brake lines, all new fuel lines, custom gas tank pickup, thinking about 4th gen console since i have one around. AC delete the proper way, ac delete box.

Interesting color. Looks good, you've got a good start. Good choice on the 4th gen seats, IMO they're much more comfortable than the standard 3rd gen seat.
Keep us updated as you go. Have you figured out what to do for a console plate yet?

Re: My 89 Formula Clone
I think im going to fab up my own plates, People want mad money for those old 82-84 bird console parts. i want to incorporate some gauges in front of the shifter because you cant really run a firebird ashtray 84 with the megashifter in the way down there.

Re: My 89 Formula Clone (PIC HEAVY!)
Heads, Oil Pan, and Intake Installed:

Just for fun, i was intoxicated when a buddy made me purchase the sticker online lol:

Motor install trial #1: (Chevelle motor mounts ARE different...)

First time the car has had a motor in nearly 2 years..

Picked up a set of 98 SS ZR1 Rims 17x9 for $100 with crap tires on them

Built TH350 capable of 650 hp/tq with a 2000 stall:

Getting there with installing motor things:

Pretty painted new waterpump:

Ride height with trans and motor installed, i am fairly certain its got v6 struts and springs up front, rear has all tubular suspension with ws6 springs:

Another ground shot:

Re: My 89 Formula Clone
Motor with Dist, headers, oil and trans dipstick, valve covers with tbars, and a few things left to finish up:

Random:

Another random of the car during transport at one time:

Just my two pontiacs Chillin ( i also own a 95 Grand prix :] ):

My headliner i found in a junkyard hanging from one visor.. Has a view spot by the mirror, but too scared to touch a minty headliner lol.

Ill get some more pics of the interior, As i now have the console replaced, all thats really left is one kick panel, a shift plate, and a few plastic screws in the back

Re: My 89 Formula Clone
Nice job! I'd definitely replace the springs in front though for a not so "nosebleed" type stance. Idk if that was listed on the "to do" list. Just me. Nice color too
