I recommend plugging them both in and turning the lights on to see if they work or not. No need to wonder.

The thing is to plug it in I have to take it all off because the female connecter is out of reach. The other one is connected but looks shot and is probly 22 years old. Do these mOtors frequently go bad?

The female connector must be caught up on something because it is supposed to reach all the way. Start there by fixing that. Second, check the fuse for the headlights. Most likely it is popped.

Have you searched through other threads?

Unless the factory harness has been ripped out or hacked up, the connector has to be there. The entire headlight assembly comes out with a few bolts, so if you can't find it, I would suggest you start there and find the other end of the harness. Has to be a reason it wasn't connected?!?!

Well you are on the right track, you joined this site. You will find info on just about anything and everything related to these cars. Like I said, fix the connector issue first. Then you can diagnose both motors.

Don't know if you already solved it or not, but on my Firebird when my headlights were stuck open it was because the ground wire for it broke.
