Like everyone else, with a variety of tools. Spring compressor, rubber hammers, punch, prybars and a pole type screw jack to gently lower and raise the a-arm.
from your photo i was wondering if you kept tires on ground, removed control arm bolts, and then simply raised car into air until coil springs had all the force off them. that would make the job so much easier.

The tools i used. I do them in the air these days and the 3 leg screw jack works well
After i realized the car was sitting on the lift when i measured the last set of springs, i remeasured, and it was sitting "aftermarket low". Not what i was looking for so i cut another set of same code and free height springs i had. I'm really happy with the "factory look" now.
also something that has been bothering me, did round 1 of wheel well cleanup an detailing.
Great thread Tony, glad I got to learn some SLP history and see more about your enjoyment of the craft / hobby. Best health to you and your family this season.
Even though these aren't correct for 92s, i found 5 nos t/a and formula hood insulations.
Due to past storage they aren't perfect and got wrinkled where the hood bulge is molded.
will post a out of box picture later.
i do have 1 other i bought nos years ago and it's in perfect shape.
What was wrong with the front bumper fascia that was on the car?
Hard to see but it had warping and curling going on along the hood area. Plus, im lazy and it's easier to scuff and paint a new cover than to strip the original.
AND! And you have a spare to add to the fine collection of 3rd Gen parts you have stashed away. Make sure to create a price list for all those parts in case you go missing and the wife has to raise money! I've done the same, but she just thinks, well, not sure what she thinks.

LOL. i told my wife that when i die don't sell any of my stuff until she first talks to some of my friends to see what it's worth. that way she won't get ripped off and i don't get in BIG trouble telling her the value now.
Original 305 tpi 5spd starter with nasty dead spot "New" Remey LT1 fbody starter from china. Used a remey reman from mexico on the teal car. Kind of a test to see which one lasts.
The original small 92 5speed starter bolts work. Don't need to use the arp LT1 bolts. Teal 92 350 auto needed the arp bolts. One of the factory bolts has been discontinued by gm.
So much easier to install those new PM starters! My Chevelle is going BBC and its starter has the cast iron housing LOL they ain't no fun - Are you going to get hood pained when the bumper gets shot?
question on the Brembos what size dia and thickness are the rotors and how do calipers compare to 5th gen SS? I have restored a set of 1LEs ready to go, but my mind wonders LOL

The plan is to do the hood, nose, headlight lids, and maybe the mirrors. Trying to figure out the black paint code used in the nose parklight areas.
brembos are 13x1.? Same rotor ring a F40 uses. I haven't really got on the brakes in this thing yet. It does have some racetrack pads on it soooo it takes a lot of heat to get em grippy
You can see how they got a little flattened in the scoop area. That puts these at driver quality at best. The covering isn't torn or anything, just wrinkled. Not sure how to get it back into shape and hold its form.
I bought nos headlight door lids to paint. Incase i ever want to go back to stock, hood, lids and bumper cover setup. The hood and all parts are off to paint Snuck these to work on midnights and got them sanded down. Paint was so baked and dry, it came off super fast. Barely 15 mins of sanding for 1 mirror using 320.
Looking for a nos pass mirror gasket, these were smoked from the southern heat/sun. anyone?
If it's SMS for the material, just give up now...I'll never get my time and frustration back from that garbage business.
Almost 2 yrs for my nos black fabric, they have resorted to having some brown dyed.. we'll see how this looks. Ugh
Well, seat fabric finally came in, doesn't look or smell freshly dyed at all, just looks like black possibly nos.
also, while doors are apart, i changed the vertical window Channel rubber/felts. Pass side was super brittle and falling apart, which prompted the new parts. Driver side, oddly, still decently soft
We finally got a non-ethonal pump at our local gas station a few months back. Time to drain the 10% corn juice for real fuel May as well install an assembly line correct nos fuel filter.
Still waiting on body shop to make some parts yellow
It's only 91 but the cars love it. I'm in a small town so we are lucky to get this.
we do have a huge boat dealer so i hope that really helps keep it going.
I did drain and fill several cars the other day at about 75bux a wack.
I was at corvette museum again a year or so ago.
