Dana 60 Rear or GM 10 Bolt 8.5

I am gonna try to retrofit one of these two rears into a third gen. Is anyone interested in the project? Like helping supplying a broken rear to cut of the connection points. Or anyone have a D60 or 8.5 around? Also if I can get it right I wouldn't mind selling them for like 1/4 the price of a Moser 12 Bolt and it will be just as strong. A D60 will be even stronger then a 12 Bolt.

A GM 8.5 is nowhere near as strong as a 12 bolt. By the time you shorten the axle tubes, have a set of axles made, throw some gears in it and not to mention fabricate and mount spring perches and LCA mounts you'll be close to the price of a 12 bolt and it wont be as strong.

I have heard many people say its just as strong. Considers its SLIGHTLY smaller then a 12 bolt. With me fabricating it myself it should cost about 800$. This would include custom Moser alloy axles.

Also if you need more power rating then that like I said the Dana 60 will handle anything you can throw at it.

Update:

I recieved a local price for a perfectly working 10 Bolt 8.5" Posi rear for 100$ with a 90 day warrentee. Gonna pick it up A.S.A.P.

Does anyone have a broken stock 10 bolt out a third gen? I will give you first dibs on a 10 Bolt 8.5 if you give me it :-P

I will probaly be selling these for about 400$ with a 100$ refund core for your old rear broken or working. and 1000$ with a 100$ core for one with 33 Spline Moser Axles, 33 Spline Posi, and gears of your choice.

These rears have been put well into the sub 9's with slicks and a trans break.

Do we all have to be so lazy to waste 1500$ more on a 12 Bolt Moser when the guys who used to not have the pleasure of buying brand new 12 bolts had to fabricate there own into there cars?

Please feel free to post opinions.

Good luck getting the torque arm to mount to either of those rears
