MD Emissions

I know there is a current emmissions post going on but Id like to get a general assumption.

Will a car pass with out A.I.R./ Smog and without EGR?

It will have a Magnaflow cat.

yes i am missing alot of things

no egr
no a.i.r
no cats
no evap canister

just headers and a slp two on the left exhaust

with me they initially wanted to throw me on the roller, i failed that way. i came back they said well it seems its hard to control ur car, so they just do the idle only test. after that i seem to almost pass or pass barely. the latest time i went with some timing adjust and i passed pretty good.

u shouldnt have a problem with the cat on it.

they dont check under the hood, so ur safe for that part.
its either roller test of idle test.

a friend of mine has a 98 transam and has long tubes and a loudmouth no cats nothing and passed fine. another friend of mine had a mustang with a blower and side pipes the hole works and passed fine but the kicker with his car was it would littlery make your eyes water if you stood next to it. it passed as well. it seems it is a hit or miss thing to me. i know mine wont pass it runs on cam 2 so i jsut keep getting extensions. but with a cat u should have no problem

OBD-2 cars are much easier to get to pass the emissions because the emissions facilties rely on the vehicle sensors to determine if it fails or passes. It does not take a actual reading from the vehicle. Basically if its not throwing a code, you can pass on a OBD-2 car. Unfortunely thirdgens aren't as fortunate and you will need to take the sniffer test. Many testing stations do not do visual inspections but some do.

i think the visual inspection is only for the emissions part of the normal inspection.

Uh oh, I didnt think, but my car wont pass visual inspection without the AIR pump will it? My car is not on the road yet so it has to be inspected.

Nope. But you only have to get inspected once.

you can buy inspection for like 100 bucks if you look around. i know i can find someone who will do it in a matter of like 2 hours.
