Any Generous People out there?

Hey All,

I've recently moved BACK to MD from SC. I brought with me a nice looking (nice looking, but damn is she a pain!!!) 86 Z-28. But, unfortunatly, Luck has had it's run with me lately.

The two things killing me right now is 1- Gas tank is punctured (yay), and 2- Torque arm mount is missing.

Basicly, I have no place to work on my car (darn townhouse developments), and I have no way to transport a gas tank, even if i could find one.

So, if there is somone out there that is willing to help a guy out, I'd appreciate it. I'll pay rent for the space/help whatever, at least what i can (damn engine put me in a good amount of debt)....

Btw, i'm in Olney MD. Basicly over by Rockville. so... give me a shout or e-mail me at serpentine_ocean_@hotmail.com . Thanks.

When i bought her

Rebuilt Engine

and if you want, all my history of pics are here... My Camaro

I need to Locate a Tank and torque arm mount, and then a place to install it. I thought mabey somone might know an easy/cheap way to grab one. It's going to be hard to raise a car and pull it from a junk yard.

I think i've got all the necessary tools. Jack and stands... but i can't do it in my parking lot is all.

i mean if you put something under the car to catch any spills you can come over to my place and do it. at the yards around here they have forklifts to life the car and then you stack tires under it. it takes like 10 seconds. i have one side of a torque arm mount too. its the side thats not on the tranny, that needs to go around the torque arm. i dno if its the right thing, you might just wanna grab it at the yard, it takes no time at all. just let me know when youre ready.

Throw tires under where? lol.. the rear axle needs to drop to pull the tank right? .... old worn tires keeping a 3k lb car from crushing me? ....your brave! lol.

Thanks though. Once I secure the parts I might hit you up on that offer.

well first of all most yards pull gas tanks out already. So i would just call them up first. Try Crazy Rays Used Auto Parts  U PICK IT!!   U PULL IT!! they are located around baltimore and a little south. According to there prices they are only $35 and they pull them for you. So you may want to give them a call. I maybe going up there this weekend.

I just pulled a gas tank last week never heard back from the guy that was going to buy it. It's out of '91 RS, so it has the plastic baffle and I had installed a Walbro 255 fuel pump in it.

best bet for the torque arm mount would be a dealer.

As for the tank and all, if you can get it up here by my place I can help you out with it. I live in Severn 21144. You can bring it by the shop and do it on a lift but you'd have to pay for shop time. Either way is cool with me though,.

I have a carport you could use if that would help. I'm in Damascus, just up 108 from Olney (off Hawkins Creamery Road). Let me know if a carport would work for you.

A carport is somewhat like a garage, but without doors or sides. It's a part of the house, covered by the roof and one or two sides of the house. My carport has a wall at the the back portion and one side. I don't know how else to describe it. It will keep you dry when it rains (except if the wind is blowing in the right direction) and keeps you in the shade. Hope this description helps -- if you'd like feel free to come by the house and take a look. Right now I've got my Z28 and my gold Trans Am parked there, but would be willing to move the T/A to give you space to work on your car.

Ohh yea! i remember seein that gold TA. Big ole american flag on it right? he he he.. gold. lol, reminds me of 'Pimp My Ride' with the green mustang with the Gold convertible top.... .....Anyways! thanks for the offer.

Unfortunatly, bills have made my last paycheck slim. So it might have to wait till after the 30th, or weekend of. But when i get to that point i'll start contacting people.

I think I'm going to sell that car -- don't know if anyone else out there will like the paint job, but it can always be changed.

You're welcome to come by anytime you're ready.

SerpentineOcean, I saw you! LOL -- my son is going to Kids Co Camp. They meet at Brook Grove Elementary School (right off Prince Phillip). Right after I passed you my trunk pull down motor lost it's mind, urgh. Motor continually runs and won't stop -- until I release the hatch, then I can't get it to catch again. See what happens when you pass a nicer car than yours, lol!

Thats great! I thought it looked a lot like your car, but you passed before i could see the 'Ford Girl Gone Bad' on the front. I waved cuz your car was pretty... lol. I was just taking it around the block to keep it runnin right. I live right around the corner.

As read above, the gas tank still has a hole in it. So i can only put in a gallon or two at a time. I actually ran outta gas as soon as i came out to 108. lol. I had a little gas can in the back though cuz i knew it'd happen.

You live close? Every saturday there is a gathering across the street from me (corner of 108 and 97). You should stop by some time (and let me know ahead of time).

Sorry, it was on Old Baltimore I saw you, not Prince Phillip...got my roads mixed up.

I live about 15 minutes away in Damascus. My son's summer camp is at Brook Grove Elem. School, so I drop him off around 8:15am and pick up before 6:00 pm.

My offer still stands when you need a spot to work on your tank. Just let me know. Where is the meet at 97 and 108? I heard about cars meeting up at Coldstone, is that it?

I'm not familiar with 'Coldstone'. But really it's right before 97 on the right. In the movie theater parking lot (accross the street from starbucks and Blockbuster)... right behind the taco bell.

And it's usually the same people that show. All sorts of cars and years. Except last time i whent, about 10 fourth gen mustangs rolled in all high and mighty (all were supercharged though).

and yea, i might hit ya up, as soon as i get the spare cash.

Look for me in my "new" '98 Camaro. I just got it tagged last night. It's black with gold anniversary stripes. I'll be in the same area this week, then off for a week, then back for two weeks while my son's in camp. Wave and I'll stop and say hello.
