Capitol Raceway TnT!
According to the web site, this Friday is the first TnT of the year, “weather permitting.”
Not sure what that means, I had a couple times that I drove down there last year that they said they were open and they weren’t, but I’m guessing that if they are open I bet that it won’t be busy and you’ll be able to get as many runs as you want.
Anyone planning on going?
I would like to get some baseline runs for my project TA but have some concern over what’s going on with the tranny lube in the car, if I can get it drained and replaced and all the loose stuff in the car bundled up I’ll head out.

Re: Capitol Raceway TnT!
So did anyone besides me make it?
I only noticed one other 3rd gen and I didn’t recognize the car or see the driver, an IROC suffering from the same color issues as my TA, same color dark metallic red with a black nose…

I believe that might have been me, I was there friday night. I think I saw your TA, very similar dark red fading color?.
Came across this post and just HAD to register and join the forum since I've been seen
. I just bought my car a week and a half ago, it ran 16.585, which I beleive is only 2 tenths slower than stock (prolly needs a tuneup). I was there with a couple guys from the Ford Probe scene, as I used to own a probe and still hang out with the gang. Poor SOD I was with blew his differential on his very first race against me. I broke my trans mount, but 8$ and 15 minutes later that was fixed.
How did your car do? I didn't get a chance to see you race. There was also another third gen there iirc, the paint was in better condition than mine. I cant for the life of me remember the color though.

Definitely the dark red metallic, definitely faded, black nose off of another car and some flat black all over the quarters covering up where I knocked off a pile of bondo that was on the car when I bought it, straightened up/moved the sheet metal pretty much back to where it was supposed to be and ran out of time to finish it before winter so I just covered it to keep it from rusting. It seemed that ever one noticed that I didn’t have the rear wheel well liner or gas filler door installed causing smoke to pour out of my gas filler opening when I did my burnout.
How did I do? About as well as you can expect a stock 305 with 3.08 gears, 109K miles and some weird oil burning going on… a bunch of runs between 15.1 and 15.3 at between 88 and 92mph. Considering a bunch of stock parts with questionable history/condition in a car that I haven’t bothered to go through mechanically to get tuned right (I don’t even know what the plugs look like or what the timing is set to yet), I’m pretty happy with how it ran. Now I have some oil burning and an exhaust leak to chase down, and the track runs made the point that the tach in the digital dash is insufficient for performance use… so I need to do something about that before I go to town with modifying the car.

I made it up there Sunday. There were a good 4 or 5 thirdgen's up there, notably a blue T/A, a yellow Iroc (i think?), a black Iroc, and a Black T/A. Dude with the black T/A threw a serpentine, then it ended up being something else wrong with one of the pulleys, pretty lame, but it was still awesome. There were so few cars running that you run almost back to back, my time slip shows i got two runs in 7 minutes apart
