Since you are willing to travel you would probably have a lot more luck with the CLASSIFIED section here. That is where most of the parts trading happens.

9 or 10 bolt will be good, must be posi/limited slip!! not to worried about condition of drums/rotors. i already have 2 axles that are one wheel wonders with 3.42 and the one in the car is 2.73 one wheel wonder! need two wheel wonder.

just a question

But.. are you guys all against putting a locker in your rears? Why must it be factory? I mean to each his/her own but I was just curious. And dont get me wrong I am not trying to step on any toes here. Just an innocent question.

look at the cost alone of a locker, that is the reason that i am wanting to stay factory. you put in a locker and do it the right way, no short cuts, replacing bearings, brake parts...............the cost gets up there almost to the point of buying a new ford 9" rear axle or something like that. my car does not put out enough RWH to need a "high performance" rear axle. this is just me. and i know that most people have a different opinion, and needs based on what the vehicle was/is built to do!

one reason.................. I have to be different! I see everyone(most) putting 305,350,383's. I wanted to do something a little different just me being me!! the thing does spin up real nicely!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly correct.

I was a dum a$$ and just jumped into it.

If you do the work yourself you can save some money. I spent $1455.00 (included labor to rebuild it) on the 10 bolt on my car, and its still a 10 bolt waiting for me to break it. I didn't realize how much I had spent on it untill it was done and over with because I spent a year buying-gathering parts, not paying attention to the costs compaired to a new 9 inch. If I had researched it I would have a Ford 9 inch under the car instead.

Learning from experience sucks, but it means I won't make that mistake again.

And isn't that why we have these boards? So we can all learn from what other people did? I would have done it the "wrong" way. I never even thought about the price difference of a 9" and doing all the work to a 10 bolt. I love you guys!

Well... I can feel better about throwing away $1500.00 on a 10 bolt if I saved just one person from making the same mistake...

Didn't work.
