Eddyville opens the 17th, who's gonna be there?

Alright guys, the time has come. Its finnally race season here in what was the frozen tundra known as Iowa. The 86 is getting painted tomorrow and then I'll finish up a few little things this week. But I will be at Eddyville April 17th, who else is gonna be there? Its time to see if I spent this winter building a dud, or a rocket! (relatively speaking)

-Is your car gonna be ready c u later?

Yeah, I'll get a pic of it up later tonight when I get it back from the paint shop. The body is definately not perfect by any means, but I'll also include a pic of what it looked like when I pulled it out the the COW PASTURE 6 months ago, the improvement is insane.

It's a great track aside from the rock quarry pits and the fact their traction compound has a terrible side effect of turning the starting line into an ice rink once the summer heat/sun beat down on it. Definately a spring/fall track and waste of money during the hot summer months. Lots of ducks, lol Aside from that great track crew, runs very organized and I like the fact it's a downhill track for gettin that last bit of ump for a fast slip. Just be sure to have the largest tires and lowest hp to be consistent, lol. Or drop back the timing bout 10*. Tech is quick and easy, think the closet the guy got was 20' to my car and signed off!! The few guys I talked to met there last year were good guys, and they like the fact when you beat the snot out of that tracks "players", like I said ducks

Here are some pic's of the car, the first two are of when it had quite a bit of body work already done, but no paint, I wish I had pics of the rust and dents all over that car. The other shots aren't that great, but they're all I have at the moment, I think you'll enjoy them though

Oh yeah, the paint I went with was 1979 ford (sorry guys) dark orange mettallic.

Edit: the pics work now

dont worry, the black base coat( before the color coat) is a 2000 ford black that he used on my car. That 86 was pritty rough wasnt it! well it looks alot better now. Are you gunna run a cage in that?

naw, she's nowhere near fast enough to need one. The body is still not that great ( I did a very rushed, inexperienced job on it) but yes, it does look much better, and the paint is very sparkely (sp?) I'll see if I can get some more detailed pics of it, those were just of me burning off the stockers before I put on the drag radials.

If I break into the 8's I'll be extreamly pleased, but a more realistic goal i think is low 9's. I guess we'll just wait and see!

you should put a 8 point rollbar kit in it anyhow to make the frame more rigid. you have frame connectors on there i hope. well if you need help doing any of that kind of stuff i have a welder and have done it plenty of times!

Yeah, the rearend got built. Went with 4.10 gears. I got it done for free, cant beat that! The LSD is holding up fine.

I went 9.03@77.37 with a 1.99 60' on stock suspension and BFG's
The car needs a lot of tuning. With a little cooler weather and that, I should run 8's easy.
