Its not my car it is the 92 collectors edition camaro a prototype that never made it. I was thinking about making my car a clone of it. So what do you guys think?

Finally a person that agrees with me
Yes carlover those are black racing stripes. they look just like the heritage addition ones. I think the 92 collectors edition is a beautiful car and I am lokking forward to making a clone of one. One of the beautiful things is going to be the six speed vette tranny as soon as I figure out how GM modded the floorboards to get it to fit. I already have the tranny just need some parts off of a buddys car to convert my car to manual. I have tradded my hood for a flat one and I already have the GTA rims. I found the black stripes for $100 all I need to do is paint my car white. I am not going to do the RS emblems or the grey interior with the 90-92 dash. The way I see it there is only one collectors edition in the whole world to compare my car to so I do not need to make an exact replica. Besides it would be cool to have an IROC edition of that car anyway. I am debating black IROC-Z stickers on the doors but not sure if it would look too busy with the racing stripes or not.
here are some more pics of the collectors edition for you guys to enjoy. It is very rare and hard to find info on so if you guys can find some please post links on this thread...............

i was strongly considering the t-56 swap as well, or any auto to manual swap on my car. let me know how it goes.
how much did you buy the transmission for?
glad to see your makin this car into an amazing performer and lookin good to top it off

I was bout to post a huge rant about how much better black paint is than white (just a personal and artistic preferance). but that got deleted by accident... so instead i'll give you this advice
think about what the car would look like with black ground fx. Black paint at the bottom of the car makes the body look lowered. It sounds like its cheating but its a really cool effect black has. It blends in with the shadow under the car so when you look at it you almost can't tell where the sheet metal ends.
Just a suggestion... you might be able to photoshop the side view to get an idea it might even look like crap in photoshop. If it does then just keep it white with the stripes. the catch is that you might have to play around with how far up the black goes. If you dont go up far enough the black will make it look raised.

I was just thinking... any new paint job will probably make 3rdgens look good. I say this because bout 80% of the thirdgens I see have a really ghetto *** paint job if any at all. I hardly see 3rdgens that actually have a respectable paint or body condition (my car included
). It's sad to see these cars like that.I'm only talkin bout what I see in MI by the way...the cars on thirdgen are ****ing cherries.

Yeah, I love the silver for some reason!!
On another note, I got outbid on a Weiand 142 Supercharger on ebay..
I tried.....got up to 1100 bucks, and I was still outbid! Looked pretty much brand new, but at 1100 bucks, it's getting too close to what I can but a brand new one for - with a warranty.
Guess I'll have to wait!

no, I perf. Gunmetal (a nice clean stock looking gta or formula from 88-92)
white is ok but, why does every camaro use the gta rims? I know that one in the picture was like that but? I even see alot of local camaros with the formula rims.... they say pontiac right on them

mine say camaro on them. I took a set of WS6 caps took out the emblems and put black ones with camaro in silver on them. The main reason I put GTAs on mine is cause nobody in town (untill recently) had GTA rims on their camaro. Now it is just a coincidence that the car I am building a clone of has them.

I think most of us are speaking the same language here. If not let me translate it for you other guys...
White is easy to keep clean... in other words it practical and pleasant... great for everyday but it so... sterile
BLACK IS JUST PLAIN SEXY! Yeah it gets dirty and you got to wash it but when its clean and shinny lights reflect off the sheet metal the way a white paint job can only dream of.

As with many other things, color is just someone's preference. Your car - Your color. Unless you're building it to impress others instead of yourself.
Here's MY opinion FWIW.....
White with black stripes looks nice. And can look sporty. Easy to clean, shines too, and hides minor body imperfections.
Black has an awesome shine factor, but will show every imperfection the car has to offer no matter how minor. Unless you have a totally ding free car that you've spent endless hours sanding and prepping, black is not the best choice. Again just my opinion. And yeah, everyone has one.
There's only one or two years of 2nd gen cars I like, and here's one of them - and with white stripes! (drool)
