i'm in
I have been trying to find out if there were any such clubs around, sounds like a good idea, but the crusing season is just about over so we should act fast! I know of a couple good spots to meet at in North Oakland County if any are interested. So lets try to do this and not just post negative things about why it won't work.

Well, I got some people now!
Ok well, since i have had many people contact me about the c.c. i guess im gonna have to make it happen. Sorry to all the people who I have spoken with previously and told i was goin to contact them. Myself and r2rs3.1L have been working on a roster and trying to get our first newsletter goin. But, to get the newsletter out we need everyone who is interested to e-mail me the following...........E-Mail,Aim s/n and a phone number would be nice too. The first newsletter will include our first c.c. meeting/carshow, this will be very important for everyone to show up who is interested, for we will be choosing our name and discussing possible locations to meet/cruise. If anyone is capable of making us a website pls contact me with ideas.
Thank You 2 All

sore thumb
I'm gonna email both of you my contact info
hey tony! you mentioned the possiblity of a "carshow".
Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with us having a car show actually I'm thinking it might be the other way around. My cars not in the best condition body wise (dont worry, it has paint). You guys sound like your cars are all pretty tip top. I'm thinking the trans am is gonna stand out like Gary Busey in a crowd of super models.
...just letting you guys know...

My car is in decent shape, not show worthy yet. My front driver side fender is dented pretty good, likewise is my rear quarter panel. My front ground effect is torn, and there are stone chips everywhere. I'm taking it to Maaco before the carshow to get some of that stuff fixed.

OK first meet blew bigtime
The past week myself(TpiTony) and Steve(92rs3.1l) have been recruiting people for our 3rd gen C.C., It was goin swell, we recruited almost 20 people and had all of them fill out registration/contact forms. But our first meet at red robins tonight sucked only 3 people showed up, Sooooo........ we are really trying to get enough people together so we can vote on a official name and start sending newsletters and organizing meets, or chose a different spot where it will be more practicle for everyone to meet at. If Anyone has any comments pls e-mail me at lingenfelterss@yahoo.com, And if interested think about c.c names and suggest them to me or steve,
Please imput would help alot!
Thx Tony

Ok. Me and TpiTony delegated, and we decided that we should meet for our meetings at the McDonalds over by Borders books, on M-59 and M-53. We will meet there for meetings on Tuesday nights at 7pm. We will meet there at 8:30 on Sunday nights to cruise untill about 10:30ish. Any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact either myself or Tony.

well i didn't hear about anything at redrobins on mondays even though i'm there all the time. i was there at 7:30 and was the only thirdgen there out of 60 cars. what red robin were you at?
lastly, tuesday isn't the best of nights as you have several cruise nights going on so unless your trying to get people into the hobby most will be spread out amonth the town. 8:30 on a sunday until 10+ is also a little out of the question. most sunday nights are date nights/movie nights so your not going to get much support after 8pm.
sounds like you guys are putting effort into it but you need a little better ideas as far as times and days.
first off you need to pick better days for your meetings. tuesdays are alright but mondays/thursdays are better. location is very important which means you need to find the most central place for the majority of people. i know with you guys being in shelby the location is close but it isn't close to alot of people so you need to make sure those who are coming out all drive equally unless 6 out of 10 live centrally then that's ok.
you'll need a catch too. can't just have people drive all that way for nothing so club meeting/cruising or even little show is a good idea. one reason why i suggested redrobins on mondays over on hall rd. they already have the notice out on there car show and it's free so at least people would be driving for a show as well as a meet.
again, sundays i don't see you getting many showing....past 8. you'll need to do something earlier. try using wild woody's car show or something similar if your going to do that.
all suggestions of course but if you give people something to look forward to other then 3-4 cars in a lot it will work better. picking more reasonable times and locations make all the difference.
good luck.

Thanks Kandied. Like we said, we are new to this, and we could use all the help we can get, so if you guys could tell us what nights are good for you, that would help us in making a decision. Thanks again guys!

Well I would have showed but no one let me know anything! I emailed both of you guys (steve and Tony) and didn't get any notice, and steve is the only one that replied and mention a show on oct 3rd. So I'm wondering if maybee the word didn't get out, and that is the reason for the low turnout? Member

I agree with Kandied on the Wild Woody's idea(Sunday evenings),
they run through Oct 31 this season
I go there every Sunday afternoon/evening
it would be nice to get a good 3rd Gen showing to put the 4Th Gen guys to shame, most wont even open thier hoods!
Like no one has ever seen a LT-1 or LS-1 before!!!
Its just a thought
Post any idea's/meetings here...
Hopefully i'll have my T-5 swap done for this Sunday!!!!

Ok guys, here's whats goin on so far....
Tony decided to step down as the club president, so I am taking his place. So far I'm thinking of having us gather at Wild Woodys Sunday Night to cruise and check out some of the other cars, and Meeting Thursday Nights at the McDonalds off of M59 and M53. I am extremely open to suggestions (As I have taken Kandieds and Brocks advice for the new times), but I am running out of time. I need to know what you guys think by Friday. Also, if you guys want to be in the mailing list, PM me your email addresses so I can let you know about all the upcoming events and such. I am really anxious about getting this thing goin, and I feel with your support, we can all have a great time diong it. Thanks a lot!

October 3rd Car Show
Sorry I haven't been able to update lately, things have been kinda hectic with TPITony selling his 3rd gen, but there WILL be a Lions Club Car Show Oct. 3 on 21 and M53. Guys, I really want to get a lot of 3rd Gens up there. Registration will start at 8. Please contact me if you want to go. Keep in mind taht your car DOESN"T have to be in "showroom" condition to enter, as Mine isn't. It will just be a fun time for all of us to meet and have some fun. PM me if you want to go, I want to get an Idea of who's goin.

21 and m-53? i thought m-53 was 23 mile road??
anyhow reguardless then you should post your show details on every forum your on that has a michigan section. also, hit up the weekly shows and track other thirdgens down. if you know of some local thirdgens like here on this board personally email them.
good luck with it.....my car will be apart after m9. we'll see what happens.

I probably won't be able to show for any of the meetings... maybe for a few car shows. Shelby and Macomb are just too far a drive for me. Especially since I'm not familiar with that area at all.
Are there a lot of cops out in that area?

Hey guys, to clear up some confusion, the park that the car show will be at is off of 21 mile. It backs up directly to M53, so the easiest way to get there is to take S M53- W M59, then take 59 to N. Van Dyke, Van Dyke to 21 mile, then 21 mile East. I'm thinking that due to Distance related issues, we'll hold a meeting ONCE a month, instead of ONCE a week. Merlot, yea, there are a few cops up here.
