I'd very much like to attend this, but with a family, Holiday weekends are VERY busy(more so than every other)
It would be a LOT easier to attend on a "normal" weekend
Just my opinion

DATES- up until last year, our dates didn't seem to matter to too many, as
our attendance climbed 20% each year for 6-8 years or more. Holidays have
their advantages, like the Hotel is never booked and with extra day off,
usually Friday or Monday, we felt it gave people a better chance to attend
and not use extra vacation days. Our first year was in August, second year
in mid-july and then we had been told that holidays were not so bad, as
many people didn't pay as much attention to them, so we tried it and
attendance kept growing! We have heard this comment before in last 2-3
years... it could be an after-effect of 9-11, as you mention, family has
become more important recently. We also try to be light-hearted on this and
like to say... "there are two other summer holidays to spend with your
family... why not spend one with your Camaro family". Now that the show at
the GM Tech Ctr is gone, maybe we'd even move into August, which gives us
more time to promote the event. However, you also run into the Woodward
weekend..... always something! Also JUST noticed, the Carlisle event is the
week before our event, so now THAT weekend is taken....

i personally do not like the event on the holiday weekend. there are other shows that it would conflict with this is true but i would much rather have a weekend like the 4th that i can spend with my family and friends just relaxing. reguardless of how much fun in general a car show is the event is something i'd rather do any other week of the year.
for the long haulers and those who are truly committed the holiday isn't a bother but you'll notice most of these people either don't have families or their families agree to come with them. this is something that is usually a great concern. many feel that those who are interested would attend any date and the fact they changed the date and attendence increased brought forth the novel idea to leave it however i feel just the opposite. you think the woodward dream cruise would ever have become what it was had it been on july 4th of every year??
who knows maybe it would but look at the facts... it's still just as large as it will ever be and it's not on a holiday. so anyhow if you have an opinion or suggestion on the show please voice it as they are listening and if you haven't attened the show you should pre-register as soon as possilbe as it's a great time reguardless of what day it is.

obviously the topic interested you to click. can't take a second to voice your opinion to help people who want to put such a large camaro event together?

I believe the drop in attendence is due primarily to the fact that it has rained on that weekend for the last 3 years straight. Also, the fact that GM is no longer making Camaros might have something to do with it.
well your choice is there then. if the date doesn't matter then you would go july 4th weekend. if it matters then you won't. pretty cut and dry. so far out of all the polls there is a 80% grouping of those who would go if it were a different day.
unfortunately there is no way to know if these people would pre-register which is what counts.

I know I'm a minority in the world of work. I work every other weekend, so my off weekends are VERY important. I live in Michigan where there are only about 16 weekends in the summer. Which means I only have 8 weekends to do what I like in summer. One is spent trying to attend Woodard, and another is spent with family, some of which I only see once a year. That weekend is the 4th of July. I know I'm a small voice in this but most of us have two lives, or regular one, and our car crazed one. When I have to choose between my car and my family on the 4th, I will always pick the family. The car sits in a garage almost 8 months a year, whats one weekend in July going to matter.
