I decide to take a chance and buy one. I ordered it and paid for it with paypal Tuesday night and guess what....
it showed up in today's mail. It was brand new are everything. It is the older model but still retails for 130 direct from GTECH. Killer deal 35 shipped to my door in 2 days.

Two caveats:
1. Some of the ebay models are the are units without a calibration screw inside, so you will have to live with whatever calibration it comes with or is messed up with. You can not tell which version till you open it up. (This applies to all red display gtech units)
2. GTech will not warranty these ebay units
But for $30 it is a fun toy
