So glad you got it back! Do they know who took it? They can finger print your car and if the thief's had a record they will be busted.

Re: lost my 3rd gen

im glad i got it back to you never realy realize exactly how much you love a car until its gone i figured id never see it again kansas city is pretty bad when it comes to cars dissapearing and never being seen again and they dont care about cars there are to many shootings and alot of drug running around here they did not finger print it and would not finger print it and obviously they didnt look the car over to well i got her home and started looking to see if i could remember exaclty what all i had lost and to see if they left anything behind and turns out they droped their missouri department of corrections identification card which puts a fellon in my car and its got their picture name and all so i called the cops they said we will have an officer there within the next four hours and that was 3 hours ago just to give you guys a hint of how much they care. and security measures are coming this weekend with the new steering column im puting both fuel pump shut off and a distributor shut off in different locations and with in the next month an alarm system. and yes i had to pay to get it out of the impound thats how the system works and even charged me an extra 50 bucks becouse the keys werent in it and then it sat in the impound for four hours and they charged me for a full days worth of storage and the police told me it wasnt driveable thats why it was towed so i got scared as to what was wrong with it and then i payed to get it out and drove it home gotta love the effin system

I hear you. I went through the same thing when I had a mint '87 SS Monte Carlo stolen in San Diego. It was found in Mexico and I had to pay border fees, storage fees, impound fees, and other fees that I never heard of. I finally got the car back and found mail to/from the people that had stolen it and the police had no interest in pursuing it. It cost 10k to get it back into shape (I had insurance) and 1 year later (almost to the day), with security measures in place, it was stolen again. I never saw it again. Good luck with yours.

Re: lost my 3rd gen

it kinda makes you wonder if they realize some of us would rather take matters into our own hands when we have a name an adress and a compleate discription and a picture of the person that stole the car or were in the car with the person that stole it imo they should do like some countrys still do today you get cought stealing you lose a hand get cought killing someone you get hung. there wouldnt be near as much crime going on and im sorry to hear about your monte

They figure he's got insurance which will pay for the impound fee so the impound lot gets money off of stolen goods.

Oh wait a minute, if I had some property that was stolen and made money off of it they'd throw my *** in jail. WTF! lmao

Glad you got your car back! Mine is 5 Spd too but with the 5.0
