Guidance needed!!!!

Ive got my 89 iroc z tore down to nothing, refinishing the inside and underneath with dupli color's bed armour (which seems to be very nice), but now that i'm going to start putting it back together ive hit a dead zone on how i'm supposed to convert this car from an automatic to a t-56.

anybody that has any info on this i would greatly appreciate some guidance!!!

Note: I'm converting this car from the 5.7 tuned port/auto to a Ls 5.7/t-56

Re: Guidance needed!!!!

It looks like he bought a 5 speed to rebuild. I'm trying to figure out how to convert mine.

Re: Guidance needed!!!!

That's definitely torn down to nothing. I assume you have the trans and hydraulics already? I would start by mounting the pedals and hydraulics.

I don't have the pedals or hydraulics. That's what I'm looking for. Not sure what I can use or where to find the parts.

I bought my hydraulic slave cylinder assembly new from the dealer. My car was already a 5 speed car but you can get pedals from Hawksthirdgen or a few other online vendors that carry parts for these cars. You will have to cut a hole in the trans tunnel for the shifter so now is the time to do that. You will also need to get the rubber shifter boot and mock it up so you can get your 4 holes drilled to mount it. A T5 boot will work fine. I think I MAY have had to trim mine a little bit.

Re: Guidance needed!!!!

Awesome thanks guys!! I'm going to contact Hawks. It seems they have everything I need but I have to see if they can match a 82-92 pedal kit with a 98-2002 t-56 trans conversion kit.

And has anybody taken a lm7/lm4 and bored it from a 5.3 to a 5.7?
