91 camaro 1le brakes or something else

I am new to this forum and looking for help on what brakes are on my 91 camaro I just purchased. I cannot find the RPO codes anywhere, all stickers have been removed and car appears to have been completely disassembled at some point because every SPOHN racing part you could possibly put on this car is on it. The rotors are worn out and I need to buy new ones but I am not sure what the brakes actually are. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pics. The car is a G92 car.

Rears look like stock PBRs - 89-92. Front aren't 1LE, they look like "LS1" front brakes.

Re: 91 camaro 1le brakes or something else

I looked up LS1 brakes and I agree that is probably what they are. I am a 5th Gen guy and bought this 91 for my son and am not familiar with some of the terms for 3rd gen's. What does PBR stand for? And what vehicle should I use to order new rotors and pads knowing that these are not stock front brakes. Do I need to order brakes for two different vehicles since that back ones may be stock?

Thank you for the help

PBR is Performance Brake Resources, the manufacturer of the calipers. If you look closely they'll have PBR cast right on the caliper. They were stock on all rear disc thirdgens 1989-1992, so that's what you'd order parts for the rear.

The "LS1" brakes are referred to as LS1 brakes because they came out in 1998 on the Camaro and Firebird, the same year as the LS1. Even the V6 Camaros and Firebirds 98-02 used the "LS1" brakes, so assuming that's what they are, order parts for the front of a 98-02 Camaro or Firebird.

Coincidentally, I want to say the "LS1" brakes used calipers manufactured by PBR too. But don't let that bit of trivia trip you up, the reason we refer to the 89-92 rear discs as PBRs is because 82-88 Camaros and Firebirds used cast iron Delco-Moraine calipers. "PBR" is just a quick shorthand way to note the difference between the early and late brakes.

The rear calipers are actually from a 93-97 car but are pretty much the same as 89-92 stuff other than the cut down ribs on the top of the caliper.

Interesting... I noticed the fins, but also the lack of the weights seen on later cars. Hmm.

Replacement calipers maybe?
