Eeek... I should check these boards a little more often. Yeah, her car is pretty nice. Real solid and decent at autox. It has all kinds of mods though. Koni, ES, strut tower braces, rims, blah blah blah blah. I still kill her off the line with my beat up Camaro, though. hehehehe.

i bought tools yesterday...i have a complete diagnostics system and tool set

anyone know of any good places to get some tools?

 

if your on a budget, i'd say buy some craftsman tools from sears, their decent and moderately priced

i prefer snap-on or matco, but for someone like you, who is not a professional, they are going to seem a bit pricey

 

i generally buy only Snap-On stuff...the only thing i dont like that they make is the lights...i work in an auto shop, so i generally try to buy the best
i got snap on impact sockets and wrenches, and i use Ingersoll-Rand air tools.

 

are you a mechanic in that garage, or just a helper?


anyways, stay away from the Snap-On drills, i bought one and it sucks i paid $250 for mine, and another mechanics $40 Black and Decker blows it away

i definetly prefer the Snap-On tool boxes to craftsman, the Snap-On boxes use WAY thicker metal and better hardware, again though their pricey, mine was $3000 brand new, but i bought it used (in brand new condition though ) for $1500

matco oil filter wrenches and crimpers suck
so does the Snap-On wire stripper i have :shrugs:

i have my own bay, and they let me do my own work on the cars that i am given, granted, if i get stuck, i ask my boss for help...but no, i am not a "go-for" even though i can honestly say that i as well as alot of others did start out that way.
