the iroc has been found
sadly, it was found in a suspected chop shop in youngstown.
everything is gone except for the engine and transmission.
i'm guessing that the car is gonna be written off.

i'm told everything except for the drivetrain. sadly..... they left their tools in the car when the place got busted. this tells em that they weren't done stripping the car.

they stripped it..
the front sheetmetal is gone. hatch glass and metal is gone. doors are gone. engine and transmission and rear end are still there.
the dash is still there. i'll post a couple photos in a few days.
insurance company called them today, offered $4100 for the car. they said "not acceptable"

dammit rob, your car got stolen?!? =\ i'm sorry to hear that. keep holding out, don't let the insurance company give you the shaft.
i wonder which dickface gets those parts and sells them to us. g0d forbid it's someone on these boards, or worse, a sponsor. I'm thinking we should start a forum where those of us with stolen cars can list things like VINs and whatnot so we can help each other out.

he already received a check for $988 for his personal posessions inside the car att he time fo theft (schoolbooks, stereo, cd's, parking pass for college, etc.) we're guessing insurance cuts him another $5k for the car.
i'll come right out and say this.... if we find parts from the car, we're finding out who, when, where, and why. i'm to the point now where i could crack someone's skull for messing with my car. i'm usually a mellow person. that has changed as of recerntly.

It is a shame, that was a nice car. I saw some more pics of it today, looks like something out of a junkyard. I heard an update on the situation concerning the thief but I believe Rob will be filling us in shortly from that front.

First i would like to say thanks to rob for everything that hes done and for posting about my car. Secondly i just want to let everyone know that they found the guy that did it. When the police raided the house where my car was found they found two people in the house and the fingerprints that they found on my car came back a match. The trial for the first guy starts next thurs. (oct 30) where i have to testify as a witness. This is very good news. No word on the second person yet but im sure i will hear soon. Ill keep everyone posted on how the trial is going.

Good to hear that they caught one of the suspects dave. I hope you can bring that car back from the dead, because that's one I'd definitely like to see rolling again.

al: no, the engine is complete, except for a hard line coming from the a/c compressor
glenn: yeah, they torched the complete passenger side fender frame rail (where the fender bolts to) and the strut tower out. they started to torch the driver's side in a similar fashion, but never finished the job, so to speak. i have some photos of where i tried to adjust the lighting, i'll have to see about getting them hosted.
dan: i agree in saying that the car is done for. about the only way you could salvage the car would be to find a good front clip, and patch it in from the firewall forward.
dave: it was very good to see you on the board here, sorry that it's under these circumstances. these guys will get what's coming to them. any word from the insurance company?
