I do enjoy going to the track, i just tend to get depressed when i get home. Guess i should do something about that someday. I've had my car down the track a few times. It's fun, but slow.

I like fast car...but I want 3 enjoyable cars at the same time.....
I want another thirdgen with 305 TPI to play with and see if I can get that into the 12's
OR another L98 car and do cam only to see how far i can get these cars to go on stock heads.

There's a lot of them out there. It's getting harder to find one that hasn't been modded or had the crap beat out of it though. Someday i'll make mine faster. Maybe i can get these other projects finished this year. But then again, i need to buy a house or at least build a garage before i start anymore projects. Hmmmm.....

I just need a good shell and if its a 305, i'll build that up to see what i can get out of it. I want to cam only a 350 setup to see what it will do, then turn it back to stock and build a turbo kit for it to fit these cars and hopefully beable to recreate it and make some kits

One thing i've noticed with my summit card, they ask you how much you plan to spend then give you a limit just above that. Had mine for at least 3-4 years and they never raise the limit. I'm sure if i called and asked them to they would but i'm trying not to do that. It helps me keep limits.

Thats nothing
headers/ypipe/catback was 1100 on my last "big" purchase for the TA xmas 09. I'd need 2-3 grand easily
I found out work is sending me back up to PA for a few days next week I think...gonna hopefully test the camaro out but i hear its still quite snowy up there.....

Re: PIttsburgh
My luck it wont be nice at all, but atleast I can install my meth injection kit and get it ready for this year....if all goes well my first scheduled race will be Easter weekend. I dont think i could swing April 9th opening day and then come back up few weeks later for Easter. So its one or the other...I dont think the fam would like me to skip easter just cuz of racing...but I was late last year to easter dinner because I wanted one more run at the track
Need yourself a new motor there

mine goes fine in the snow with a 305...damn 305

Hey, you made it didn't you? With a car like that, how could you ever be late? Doesn't it reverse the earth's rotation or something like that?

Re: PIttsburgh
I'm up at wexford almost every friday. I don't know if i'll bother parking mine in the upper lot. Maybe i'll stick it in the back corner with a big "WORK IN PROGRESS" sign on it. Right now im in the process of fixing the rust on the wheel wells, under the door, and I just learned i'll be doing some work under the headliner too. I need to buy a wrap around spoiler, t-top weatherstripping, and get it painted. I'm thinking, I can get the rust taken care of this summer and buy the spoiler and weather stripping. Then i'll just prep the body myself and go to maaco out in bridgeville or monroeville to get a 5 year paint job.
Has anyone used a Pittsburgh Maaco?
@ hotrod16105
I remember seeing you car out at wexford almost every week. I think you usually park your car next to or on the grass in the upper lot. I'm pretty sure I've even talked to you once about you car too.

I do usually end up in the upper lot. I park with some guys from the shop next to where i work. Usually theres a camo dodge truck, a green caddy, and a blue 64 falcon. Hopefully we can finish a few other cars to bring this year. Feel free to stop in and bs. I usually go straight for the food since we're all coming from work then walk around a bit. It's usually 8 before i'm sitting by the car. Especially on a crowded night.

Re: PIttsburgh
Evening fellas. Long time no see. Doubt half of you will remember me
Been a he11 of a time last few months. Main news, said enough is enough last week. Moving the paint work to a place where it will get done in LESS THAN 3 YEARS!!!!!!! With that in place, Hoping to have it together soon. After finally making some movement on the car, I'm suddenly reminded jsut how much I miss the car and the community.
So here I am
good news though, I got a new job and am making good money now so I think I will be able to fund the car just fine! I'm even considering ditching the 383 plan if i get a nice price on an Ls1, though I won't hold my breath.
Need to go fast!!
so how are you all?

Glad to hear things are going better. I was wondering how the car was coming along. 3 years is just crazy. Hopefully it will go much smoother now. I was hoping to drive mine soon but as i look out the window it's snowing again. Oh well.

Anybody know of any Third gen shows around our way? I know Carlisle is in June, Any others?
Re: PIttsburgh
Also, does anyone know of any good body shops in the area? I've gotten a few estimates but the prices seem ridiculously high ($7800 and $6500). I really hope to get my GTA painted by the GM Nationals.

Re: PIttsburgh
That does seem abit high. I'm not sure of any local good body/paint shops but you can try asking at swpamotorsports.com. Another local regional pittsburgh area board.
Re: PIttsburgh
I did have a shop tell me they'd charge me $3500 to paint it, but the guy who ran it wouldn't paint my bumpers because the flex agent had cracked.
I guess its back to shopping around...

Should be back in town around June 18th or so for somewhere between a week and a month (depending on work). Thanks to my dad, It looks like the car will be drivable (albeit still stock underneath) by then. At least it will look pretty! Anyone doing stuff around then? Any big cruises?
on a side note, Desperately need new wheels. New paint/trim/emblems/glass/interior etc all around and I have beat to he11 old stock rims? NOT GOOD ENOUGH

I got my bird running and drivable. I'm Not going to Carlisle. I know people that go there for many years they say it gets smaller and smaller.
I like to go to the Canton, Ohio or Dunkirk, NY, shows/swap meets. Guys in Pittsburgh can take 79 up to Erie. Also Erie has a huge car show that shuts down one of the main streets and a bunch of cars and trucks of all types go Its called cruise town aka bugging state. http://www.callingallrodders.com/ I think your Pittsburgh guys should come to the show. Than go on the peninsula afterwards. Good stuff.
