I just came across this thread, and do not have near enough time to read it, but am wondering if any kind of regular meetup time and or location came out of it?

I'd like to know that too. I think I've seen one or 2 of the cars posted here at the Wexford car cruise. But outside of that I don't know anything.

Not a "thirdgen specific" type meet but wexford happens alot, and so does irwin/norwin hills on rt 30.
We once had a meet or 2 out in Norwin/Irwin and thats how I met a few guys here. But we really havent had a thirdgen only type thing going.

You still in Houston? Or in PA?
I'd be down for whatever, at least in another month or 2 when I get my car out of winter hiding.

I'm at the Wexford show just about every Friday. It runs memorial day weekend to labor day weekend. I missed the norwin cruise last year, but I plan on making it a few times at least. Not sure of any other regular meets. As far as out of town stuff goes I plan on going to Woodward, the TA nationals, and maybe thirdgen fest, if somebody gets their car done and has the faith to drive it there. If anybody's up for a road trip let me know.

I drove my car 14 hours home from Illinois last year sight unseen.
I'd drive it out there if I were compelled enough to do so. Its in Crete, IL right? As far as "ready" I guess after I get some new rubber on it this spring its as good to go as it can be pealing clearcoat and all.

I said the same thing when I was 16. Moved here to Las Vegas when I was 22. It's been high 90s all week. Spent the weekend at the Venus pool at Caesars Palace.

Re: PIttsburgh
I moved south and didnt bring my 3rd gen but had my 4th gen... weather is nicer during winter but just brutal during summer. I didnt like it at all. I since moved back north. Long winters here may suck but it gives enough time to do serious winter rebuilds/mods
Re: PIttsburgh
Hey guys I just found this thread but my dad owns a bar in Cecil (about 25-30 mins south of the city or less on a good day) and I was thinking maybe we could have a third gen meet there. I'd have to talk to him about it first if there's enough interest but I think it'd be cool for everyone to meet up to show off our cars. Like I said its a bar so there's drinks (non alcoholic or alcoholic if you're old enough) I could also get food from the pizza shop I work at right down the street and there's some good bands that play down there sometimes so one of them might be able to play that day too. I think it could be fun if there's enough interest and maybe it could become a regular thing this summer too at least until I go to college.

Join our other local forum, unitedgearheads.com and swpamotorsports.com. Although united gearheads is more active now. Good site to meet all the local racers in the area.
Not sure who sells C16, but i'm sure the local guys would know.
Edit: I'm asking around and found a place in Butler up north that sells it. Purvis Brothers

I was out at the first cruise in wexford this year, didn't have the IROC, had the z34 though. Saw one of the members Formulas, looked like it had 82' pace car seats.

Thanks. I remember, the first time I saw them, thinking they would look great in my car. Fortunately Stippy decided to sell them at the right time.

Re: PIttsburgh
Yeah that car is getting parted out for another drag car project down the road.
I'm just abit upset i havent had my car finished by now. I figured end of may but now its mid june and no end in sight. Hoping before july 1 cuz there is a show i wanted to attend with it but if not, i'll take the trans am. Its more reliable anyway haha. Nice having 2 "toys"
I was up norwin irwin show last weekend. Nice turnout but only 1 thirdgen. Bout a dozen new stangs and shelbys there and new ss camaros to boot. Thirdgens seem dead around here

I was going for the two toys thing, but I can't get enough time to work on the other one.lol Might make it to Norwin some day. Seems like every Saturday I'm either up north or have other plans. This weekend I'll be north, next weekend Maryland, then north again.lol
Hopefully yours is up and running soon. Gotta get some miles on it before they take your registration away. Damn people driving race cars on the streets, scaring the locals.

If any one wants some free louvers that are in decent condition with all the parts, let me know, I will eventually throw them out, if no one takes them.

Re: PIttsburgh
OK Pittsburghers....It's a beautiful warm summer evening, and you've just spent the day shining up the third-gen. Time for a nice cruise to...........where?? Are there still places around western PA where people actually cruise? When I was younger, there were quite a few "hotspots" you could cruise to, with the probability of seeing a good mix of customs and classics on a hot summer night. I live in Beaver County, and we have Jerry's Curb Service in Bridgewater. It is an old-style burger joint with carhops, and one can usually find a good mix of rods and customs there on any given night. I was hoping you guys could share your favorite spots to visit when you're out cruisin......

Re: PIttsburgh
I am located just off of exit 88 on 79 , which is Zelienople/Harmony.
If my car was inspected and had a plate I would take it up to Cruise-a-Palooza on Main Street in Butler and put a $5500 price tag on it. Haha, the show runs from 10 am to 7 pm this Sunday
