I have decided to sell my Camaro. It's a 89 iroc with a 305 tbi. Was an auto car but converted to a 5 spd. It's a salvage title the damage has been fixed. It has a 4th gen dash console and seat swap out of a 02 firebird car needs finished. Trans needs installed and some interior wiring work and headliner. The car I just picked up (86 z28) ran when i loaded it up, but barely. I know it sat for quite a few years, so i can imagine the project I've gotten myself into, but I guess I was looking for one . Once I brought it home it sat for a few days, and now it seems its not getting enough fuel to run. I'm getting spark, it'll start on starter fluid but will only run a few seconds.

Just ordered some new injectors so the journey begins... Hopefully that will let me pull the car in and out of the garage. Anybody else have any winter projects going on?

 

Yep, will do the same...when I got rid of the TTA last year I got myself a black '89 GTA to do a supercharged 6.0/4L80e swap. I also have a 92 T/A convertible that I just pulled the 305 in favor of a 355 Vortec headed TPI. Those are my winter projects....

I have that spare 305 if you want it. Ran well, just has 100K on the clock

 

That GTA is going to be sweet! I'm not sure i'm interested in another 305 but I could probably use some TPI intake parts if you didn't swap it all over on your 92 TA. Someone from Meadville had a Stealthram for sale on craigslist not long ago, was that you?

 

Yes, that was me with the HSR, but it was sold a few weeks ago. I do have some stuff left from the '89, I'll PM you what I have.

Does anyone in the area do anything with the SCCA? I have been wanting to join and do some club racing but wasn't sure if the SCCA does club racing around Pittsburgh or Western Pennsylvania. I was planning on building up a nice 305 to race in the American Sedan (AS) class in the SCCA.

 

SCCA does events out at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race). Not sure if they do AS class out there though. May be worth a phone call to find out.

 

i just joined. i have a 1987 rosewoodT BUT JUST BOUGHT A 1986 IROC WITH A PRO CHARGED 383. iam working on it now needs interior work iam changing it from tan to black. i got brand new in the box tan acme seat covers that iam going to sale plus decent door panels that match. i live in connellsville i would be up for some meets.

 

Just had major back surgery...so I'm on the shelf as far as meets go. I would like to see those seat covers and door panels though. Snap a few shots and send-em over.

Good luck with the "minimal rust" search. 98% of the ones on craigslist that say "zero rust" are more like "zero rust visible on the surface".

 

I noticed that a few years ago when I was looking for one to build. I have it and it is too nice not to mention on jack stands, to try to drive every day.

 

I belong to both NASA (Great Lakes Region) & SCCA (Steel Cities Region).

NASA has the American Iron Series (AI) & Camaro, Mustang Challange Series (CMC) for our 3rd Gens. There is also Time Trials (TT), Hill Climbs, Road Rally, HPDE.
Best to go to NASA.com/ Great Lakes Region for explaination of the different series. All depends on what you like.

SCCA has started Track Night at various tracks, PITT Race is one on them. Held once a month, go to PITT Race calendar; I think June 9th is the next one. There are also different levels of HPD at PITT Race. SCCA has Time Trials of Club Trials, many different racing classes. Again, go to SCCA/Steel Cities Region for events & info.
If you have track experience, sign up at Oragne Cone Racing.com for the Ohio Muscle Car Challenge in Aug 22-24; I'm usually the only 3rd Gen there. In fact there aren't many 3rd gens road racing locally.

Thanks for the help guys I decided to finish my car. I have about a good weekend worth of work left till its done. Pitt should be having a car show in late september early october on Bigelow I will keep you posted, and I will have my car there.

I am looking for my old car in Pittsburgh. It was a 1992 Camaro RS V6 auto with T-tops. It was Medium Quasar Blue Metallic. It had just over 19,000 miles on it when Hurricane Ivan of 2004 hit Sharpsburg PA. Shortly after the flood I sold it with an R title to a guy named Jeff Paris from Shaler. I tried to look the guy up but could not find anything. My father bought the car brand new in 1992 and handed it down to me, we were forced to sell it at the time due to the amount of work it would have taken to restore the car.


If you happen to know the guy or know where the car is, please message me. I would really like to try to buy the car back.
